Does anyone here know why my patch isn’t making any sound?
...oh.
I forgot to turn up the master on the output module.
The struggle is real.
i used to call this sort of thing “guitar player’s disease.”

It’s already on another thread but learnt that Sean Malone of cynic passes away... he was my most absolute favourite fretless musician ever... for both Sean’s of cynic to die at 48 and 50 this year is cruel... RIP
Jeezus, this seems to be a thing, with most of us, on here, as it comes up on a fairly regular basis. I'm struggling less, simply by not pressuring myself with the 'album' as much as I used to. I'm just gonna periodically revisit my best stuff, and if there's enough thematic cohesion between enough pieces, I'll finally do an official release. I've recently realized that my obsession with the 'official release' has been the main factor in why I still don't have one.Not really a struggle, but I have about 3 hours worth of stuff recorded.
Including the « solo bass thingy » project .
What is good, what is crap.....?????
Where’s the « un-suck » button??
Do I have the confidence in myself to drop a « bass » album??
Is the stuff « worthy »????
Damn you self doubt!!!
Not as much as pressure to do an « album » as to, ok this is « done » I’m ready to move on to the next project\idea\experiment kinda of thing.Jeezus, this seems to be a thing, with most of us, on here, as it comes up on a fairly regular basis. Plus, since getting the Iridium and really dissecting a lot of Martin Steurtzer/Phelios' music, lately (which is very much in the realm of what I hear in my own - having the ability to dissect his sound design in those Iridium presets he shared with me has been a game-changer), I'm learning things at a rather accelerated rate, so there's always new things coming into play for me. I'll do a Berlin or ambient dub track, think I finally 'nailed it' in terms of the genre conventions and cohesiveness (easy, there, @steubig) , and then two weeks later I do something even better.
-Fist bump-crippled by self-doubt?
constantly
putting stuff out?
constantly
they are not mutually exclusive.
******do it******
About sitting on stuff for years. Not as much as pressure to do an « album » as to, ok this is « done » I’m ready to move on to the next project\idea\experiment kinda of thing.
I’m not one to sit on my stuff for years. Like one of my best buddies has been sitting on stuff over 10 years....And everything is already recorded, he just needs to mix the %^&*^%&^ stuff and move on.
At least I can say, « I enfin did that »
My 2 cents.
A natural evolution of an artistic development imo.About sitting on stuff for years.
Back when obsessed with the album, I had a select group of songs that I found 'good enough'. Problem is, so much time has passed since then, I'm not really satisfied with them, anymore. I have better sounds. I am a better composer. I play better. I still don't know what I'll do with them, yet.
