Speaking of MPE and other stuff... the Iridium 3.0 beta is out and I got on board the beta testing. it has MPE, and I played it with the ROLI. There's some bugs right now, but that's what I'm looking for, right? what's cool about it (and something I really wish the Hydra could do) is thatI can have the MPE controller and a regular one both hooked up and usable, so I don't have to switch anything out or any settings.

I'm still not set on what my ideal MPE controller is. There's a lot of plusses and minuses to all of them, from what I can tell. I probably will get a Sensel Morph, soon. I don't wanna spend a lot, because I think there's gonna be a lot of new ones in the next year.

nice. Keep us posted on the Iridium 3.0 setup. That synth has my attention.

Well, got back from the ear doctor today. It's not a tumor on the auditory nerve - it's just apparently some damage. Of course, they found an unusual spot where my spine goes into my brain, so that could be another issue, entirely. So, got a CAT scan. If it's something bad, this pandemic better end soon, so I can travel.

Mixing is getting very difficult, as, I can't tell if the sound are actually muddy or if it's just me. I am getting to the point where I have an album or two ready for mixing... I don't really know how to approach it, yet. I can't just send it out to a local studio, as 99 percent of them around here have zero experience with unconventional electronic music. I wish I had someone local with good ears who knew this kind of stuff and could just sit with me when I mix.

Thanks. Wife and I are pretty freaked out. He said it didn't look like a tumor or aneurysm. Best case, it's a calcium deposit. He did also say 'vascular anomaly' that doesn't sound good. I'll keep y'all posted.

Ya deal the hand you're dealt, as in the end, the universe gives not a s**t.

Mom got a shock when my brother and Dad went away on business, she thought the milk bill would go down. It didn't.

In my teens I drank so much milk that my contact lenses would get calcium deposits so big I would break them off with my thumbnail JUST so I could keep wearing 'em (and of course the "root" of the calcium deposit remained embedded). I had to get special cleaning solution from my optometrist, and even then I went through lenses faster than most people.

Contact-lense calcium deposits...
...Feels like a boulder is lodged in your eye

Several pages back there was a whole back and forth about strings. I just got a whack load and did a bunch of restringing. The Labella gold white Nylons went on my acoustic (Emerald Balor), which is meant to be tuned E-C. I had phosphor bronzes on there but they are just too hard on my hands.

The gold white nylons are a bit stiff and I feel like the action is a bit high, but I recorded this noodle. The K&K piezo is shocking close to the acoustic sound in the room. Also featuring me hitting and tapping the body, and Portal, Crystallizer, and Valhalladelay in various forms.



Also tried the copper white nylons on my Lull. Didn't love the B string so that's E-C as well. Tuned E-C the C string sounds great, and even better tuned D-Bb).

Finally, I snagged the last new set of 32.5 winding Labella flats for bass VI on earth (I think) and installed them on my Silhouette. Jury's out there but wow are they smooth.

Hey man really enjoyed this. How did record the bass? DI or with a mic? It sounds like I’m inside the bass. Nice use of delays.

Thank you! You are basically inside my bass. It's a massive acoustic bass guitar. I just ran direct out from my K&K Pure Bass pickup (which I love over all other piezos) into the fDeck HPFpre and into my interface. I have mixed the bass before and that sounds good too. But I wanted to interact with the delays a bit while I was playing and avoid feedback.
