so much heresy in the last three posts by @monsterthompson, @ugly_bassplayer and @lordradish.
I’d rather scoop my eyeballs out with and spoon and light myself on fire after cutting each hand off.playing in a dad band cover band.
WHAAA? WHAT DID I DO, NOW? Is it the Pbass/dad band/KISS IS AWESOME thing?so much heresy in the last three posts by @monsterthompson, @ugly_bassplayer and @lordradish.
Yeah, if I ever got to that point, I think I'd just take up a different hobby. I'd rather have hemorrhoid surgery with no anesthesia than to play in a dad band. I have a toxic reaction to hackery.I’d rather scoop my eyeballs out with and spoon and light myself on fire after cutting each hand off.

Snoops first album is a classic. You could get on the Go Big Show with that act, and meet Snoop.
Ok, that may be the worst excuse ever to buy some extra gear.@dukeorock - what's the boot up time on the Octatrak? I hate the wait for my Medusa to load.

Well, I think the king of the octatrack on here is @dukeorock so he’s the one to ask away on that thing. Not using it as a reason to buy new gear. Just considering it if I start thinking about dropping over $1,000 on the Oct. one thing I’m trying to get away from is connecting and booting gear (laptops, things with firmware, etc.). Just a pros/cons list I keep track of.

From what I get (not much I must say) is that it’s a crazy good machine with a steep learning curve.
re: keeping simple.
I hear y’a, I can elaborate further on this, but to keep this short, simple is always better for me. Also realized that “seeing” music (like waveforms or spectral analyzers in a daw) completely hinders my creativity. It makes my brain use it’s logical side when I want to access the creative one. (I’m no brain science guy or creative Mozart wiz genius by any means but I think this is what happens in my head)
I’ve adapted my whole musical approach in that direction. (Gear, recording techniques, work area, using what’s available....etc....) even if it makes some things way more complicated and longer to achieve.
That’s the #1 reason I completely moved away from a DAW to create. I still use one for more “technical” things that for sure, it’s inevitable.
As an example, I’m completely option paralyzed by the Arturia MicroFreak. I really need to take this thing slowly or some walls are gonna die.
(Joking, it’s actually very user friendly but the possibilities on that thing are crazy, in a very good way)
My 2 cents.
(I can further elaborate\discuss\etc.... on creativity if anyone is interested or whatever......)
Never got that about the pork and pickle thing... should be the pork or pickle! Same with the nautila... chorus and flanger in the same pedal seem cool, til you realise there’s no presets and you have to dial in so much differently you may as well just get separate pedals or each... *shrug*Don’t feel bad—you can only use one option at a time anyway.
