i'm old and pretty much understand the roland work flow, so not as heavy a learning curve. they seem invested in making improvement and feature additions in firmware (three in the last year or so), flexibility in the sound engine (though i wish it did the fm drum thing that the tr-8s does), possibility of different sequences of different length (time signatures) at the same time, faders for volume. there's more. i've watched the full roland tutorial vid series on it and it makes sense to me.

Very Ableton live workflow for launching clips from what I've seen.
Definitely interesting (my wallet hates you)
Huge plus for me is sampling directly into the machine!!!!!

yeah. the main drawback is that the amount of sampling is pretty limited (see the sonjc lab vid about it).

the ableton clip thing also seems useful. maybe i’ll use it more than i ever did is abelton.

my wallet also hates me.

I'm thinking about the Digitech JamMan pedal with the sync feature so I can sync it to my Sdrum pedal. Apparently it's been discontinued, and the new JamMan has what looks like a different timing jack. The Digitech "Jam Sync" signal is a MIDI clock over a, 1/8" plug and I've used the Sdrum to clock my Moog synths with good results. Having a looper synced up with all that would be a good thing.

And yes, you’re absolutely right. It’s a tank, beer, cold weather, falls, hits, you name it. Just keeps on looping.
What boss looper did you have?

I think it was the RC20? It was the two pedal one, and earlier iteration.

apparently it's game on in the world of loopers that want to emulate the edp thang.

from the fb post where i got this:

Also seen on a forum post: "With Beebo looper module that I'll be uploading this week I am aiming for all EDP functions. Full midi binding. As many loops as you want. You can also loop control values if you'd like to loop pitch or automation for other modules."
