my problem is manuals that stink or are online or downloadable. one of the great things about the hydrasynth synth is the *fabulous* printed manual they include with the synth.

iridium: quick start guide of some use, downloadable pdf.

mc-707: same, but with that roland/boss penchant of not full explaining important features (some of which i’ve only learned about through facebook groups).

linnstrument: online only. ugh.

trying to read a manual on a small screen when you’re looking at the device sux imo.

One thing that's changed in the few short years since I started synthing (in '16) was how many tutorials are available online, often before the thing even comes out. I didn't know jack about my Virus, but by the time I got my Iridium, HS, and WS, I already had a pretty good idea of how to get around it, thanks to the vids.

Well, 70s Pbass is back from the luthier.

Good news, fully shielded and plays great.

Bad news, truss rod is shot and can't adjust the neck anymore. Bridge saddles are maxed out. Pickup is so low in the body i xan barely use it to rest my thumb.

Yes, peeved I am.

I guess I a new stay at home impossible to gig (ya they existed in acient times) instrument.

This is definitely going to be my next purchase.

Can't, its a 1976 Yamaha copy.
33 1/2 scale.
I'm effed.

I feel like completely dismantling it into parts. Its there on the stand looking at me and it's #^&##*$ me off.

None that I know of. But hey, these things happen.
If you play it, it gets worn and might break. And this one just did after about 45 years of service.
Ill get over it, its just stuff. I’m not mad, just “meh this kinda sux” cuz one of my instruments just retired.

@uglybassplayer : I live around the corner from Lutherie MF. They do good work and prices are decent. They’ve built me a bass body and are now making a custom touch instrument. Dunno about a neck, though. And that’s not exactly around the corner for you....

I know about MF, but didn’t know they made necks. Might give them a call next week. But I’m afraid that something that weird and custom will be very expensive.

At least I now have 16 year old flats to put on my jazz bass.....oups....the nut is stripped on that one!!!! (Replacement part should be here end of April)
