I like Elektron stuff a lot. I have the Octatrack mk2 as well as a Digitakt. Thinking very seriously about adding the Analog 4 very soon. Their sequencers are very unique and I think are fantastic for live performance. Once I discovered conditional triggering, parameter locking and scene construction I was hooked. T Elektron Digitone is becoming super popular for the ambient music makers. I thought for sure that would be my next purchase, but now I’m leaning toward the Analog 4 mk2

I first heard of Autechre from the Pi soundtrack. I wish more of their stuff sounded like this, I love the spaciness:

They’re all over the map, but I admire their originality at most points in their timeline. I do like the rhythmic stuff, but I just like clever rhythmic stuff in general. Whenever I listen to the Confield record, I feel like I just lost a barfight that I couldn’t remember the next day
yes. i like them. did you hear the "radio residency" thing they did? i don't think it's streaming anymore, but they did do a multi-cd set of it.
it was interesting in that they did some of the glitchy stuff, but wasn't as unrelenting.

i think they basically went from drum machines to really wacked max/msp patches that went into self-generative stuff. could be wrong about that.

since we're in show and tell mode. do you all know jan bang? samplist from norway. worked with arve henricksen, david syvian, eivind aarset, etc. also does this sort of thing improvising with folks.

I’ve been going back and forth...not super familiar with their very earliest stuff, but intend to go back to it. LP5 was the first thing I bought, followed by Confield. Jumping around since then. It’s a lot of stuff!

Listened to most of the track (was surprised when vocals kicked in after that massive intro I figured it was instrumental) before I had to drop my headphones for a conf call. Not 100% my cup of tea, but sounded really solid. Definitely super proggy, solid musicianship all around
Nicely done. Not my favorite vocals style, but I get it. I like the instrumental work.
