DMX recently passed as well.
I'm not the biggest hiphop fan, and the stuff I do like is not really mainstream, but some of that stuff is associated with strong memories from my college days. The 90s were so good for that genre.
I ain't called the golden age of hip hop for nothing.
Not a DMX fan at all, but you can't deny the huge impact he had on the culture.
He definitely gave his all when he went in the booth to rhyme.
Speaking of P-Bass sounds, this is a great Paul Jackson tribute from John Patitucci:

Well, that's friggin' awesome. I love that vibe, classic. Although it's so odd to see Pattitucci with anything but a 6er.
Would be boring as hell if we all liked the same thing.
Hip hop for me runs pretty deep, like it's in my blood or my soul.

for me, hip hop started with grandmaster flash, afrika bambata and so forth, and then public enemy. then there were groups like tackhead. the radio devolved into a lot of dis tracks and my dick is bigger stuff. not my thing and i got into other stuff. i’ve dabbled in a few artists since then, but it’s not been a main diet.
