The first day I got it I thought it was pretty boring, but by the end of the second day, I loved it. Two of the songs on my last record are pretty much just the Model:Cycles. It’s pretty awesome, I think
Something I've been working on last few days. Once I get one of these uploaded I feel so done with it, but I think I might revisit this one and do a proper "studio" recording. Maybe. Anyway, no bass guitar on this one, at least not this version. All synths. The Astrolab drone synth has become a staple in almost everything I do since I got it last summer.
Have we talked about baritone guitars in this thread? Anyone here using them?
we haven't, that i recall, but it's something that i've been obsessing over for about two months now. i want to get some built to my specs.

My new fuzz pedal arrived and it has me thinking about getting my guitars back out, which got me thinking about this idea. Now I'm looking to see what is out there...
What's a "good" bass vi in your eyes? The Eastwood Sidejack had my eye earlier.
my basic worry is guitar string spacing, which is like 11.5mm or something and too damn tight for this guy (even with a pick). so i'm thinking more like a piccolo 6-string bass tuned B to C in fourths with 16.5 spacing and about 28-inch scale length.
Might be worth looking into one of the Maurizio offerings. They now have single and double cuts with several neck lengths and custom string spacing. The IG page recently posted a 25.5 6-string fretless that looked impressive.

I've mulled over the baritone guitar thing a lot, but I can never quite convince myself to take the plunge. In part because, while I am a competent guitarist, I already own too many guitars than I can justify. But also because I can never quite decide whether the appeal is as a low guitar, or a high bass. The former paradigm probably makes more sense given the sorts of instruments being sold these days under the monicker of "baritone guitar". And I've already done the "piccolo bass" thing and decided there's not enough inspiration there for me.

I've owned several VIs, a Sidejack, an Eastwood TB 64, A Lakland Decade VI and a loaded Squire body with an EGC aluminum neck. The Sidejack sounds great with three P-90s. If I was to get another one It'd be the Eastwood Peter Hook Sig model. It's a replica of his Shergold Marathon VI. It's got a 2" nut so definitely has wider string spacing than any other production made VI out there. Reviews are good. I can't find a published spec on the string spacing but it's noticeably wider to the eye. I was in line for one from the initial batch before Covid made me unemployed for 7 months and had to cancel the order. I'll get one eventually.
I’ve got a Gretsch baritone 30” scale that I like but I don’t find myself playing it much anymore. It is tuned to open A. I should probably sell it but I do enjoy it whenever I take the time to play it.
