f I was to get another one It'd be the Eastwood Peter Hook Sig model. It's a replica of his Shergold Marathon VI. It's got a 2" nut so definitely has wider string spacing than any other production made VI out there.

I've mulled over the baritone guitar thing a lot, but I can never quite convince myself to take the plunge. In part because, while I am a competent guitarist, I already own too many guitars than I can justify. But also because I can never quite decide whether the appeal is as a low guitar, or a high bass. The former paradigm probably makes more sense given the sorts of instruments being sold these days under the monicker of "baritone guitar". And I've already done the "piccolo bass" thing and decided there's not enough inspiration there for me.

i'm looking at it as alto vs. baritone saxophone. just another color.

Nah, but me tuning the 6er to EADGCF is a little closer. If I was just starting out again, I'd probably get a bari guitar for my ambient, but the 6'er with the high F is just right. I can still go low.

Just restrung the Miezo to BEADGC, the ADGCFBb thing was just messing with my head, too much. Fine when just noodling, but when trying to play actual progressions off a chart or something, forget about it.

I still hafta make some files of the Miezo so you can hear it. Just don't want some pathetic wankery coming out.

I'm an incompetent guitarist, in that I never evolved past the half-assed blues/surf player I was when I was 19. Yet another reason for me not to get one.

How much of a difference is there between a bari guitar and a piccolo bass, tonally?

In other news, I think I mentioned a while ago that my mini-pedalboard idea was a bust. Most mini effects ain't all that great. To be honest, just about everything I've tried from Mooer sucks ass. So I think I'm just gonna make a normal (well, normal to normal people, not us massive 500-pedals-to-a-board types) board for gigging. Gives me an excuse to get a Way Huge Supa-Puss again. I used to have one when I first started the board thing and I think the early ones had some problems so I got rid of it. It's such a sweet and dirty analog delay. Might pick up that new Aguilar compressor, and a 'normal' verb to go with my Mooer Ambient verb, which has a few passable sounds, but nothing great. If money was no object, I'd just throw another Blackhole on there, which is the best verb ever, IMO.

Four up, might as well add a fifth. Finally getting the synth duo together this weekend, for another 8 hour jam session. Considering I've spend 3-4 hours a night most nights playing in this last year, I think it's gonna be lit.
