Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

These sure look nice

I'm really wanting that one, but I use modulation so little. He missed the mark on the Siren/Sirens v1 (volume drop/low end loss), but with the changes this should be an amazing sounding pedal. Gonna take a huge hit on my V1 Siren when I sell it for sure!

Gonna be on the lookout for the v2 for sure

Watched Decline of Western Civilization III. What a depressing film. That gutter punk scene is just heartbreaking. I fired up Part I for contrast, and while The Germs are insufferable, even Darby’s life didn’t seem as tortured as what you see in III. III really hits home because it’s set where I live, and was filmed in a time when I first started exploring the area.

Now, I’m cringing at the thought of playing Part II.

I Just saw part 1.
Germs insufferable??
Why is part 3 worse? ( other than it's where you live)
What bands are in part 3?

Germs (at least live) are unlistenable at that phase.

Part 3 focuses on the lifestyle of the fans, and they’re all teenagers living on the street begging for beer money. Their stories of abuse are painful, and the alcoholism is tough to watch. The bands weren’t bad, and sounded decent, though the gobbing scene at the opening of the film made me glad I wasn’t playing those kinds of shows.

I’ve only ever seen 1&2...never set aside the time for 3. Should I?

I wouldn’t, unless you’re interested in the gutter punk lifestyle. It’s 90 minutes of trauma. The bands aren’t iconic, and there’s not a focus on the music.

I’ve been on a punk rock discovery binge lately so I felt compelled to watch it, but I can’t say I walked away with much. You get a few minutes of Keith Morris talking, and a few minutes of Flea, but there’s not much to take away.

Just read the Keith Morris biography, it’s freakin awesome.
