Looks pretty dang fun to me. Never used that type box and have no real clue about the workflow, but it looks fun and fast
For the wave chopping (seeing the wav) as opposed to doing it by ear and overdub mode it's freaking worth the price. The extra polyphony is the cherry on top!!! I'm already pretty confortable on the SP so this would be a really easy transition imo.....
The new features are mostly workflow orientated (well those that interest me.......speed and so on...), so it's not Dilla in a box. Talent/Genius not included. DJ mode looks like it sux b@llz big time.
It still doesn’t have a step sequencer and no choke groups like an MPC, thats freakin %^&*&^%^&^%.
Now how do I skip the waiting line???
Edit: The recent version works perfectly well for me, I dont mind at all keeping it as my main sampler for the time being.
Also watched a few vids of beatmakers using the exact same work flow as the previous machine. So…..its not like a completely new entity that busts out bangers for Jay-Z.

Melotus Versio from Noise Engineering puts the fantastical sound of granular processing in your hands, offering stereo inputs and outputs for wide and expansive sonic possibilities. At its simplest, Melotus Versio can act as a granular delay, while at its most complex it will become a full-on texturizer that stretches your sound into anything from choppy gliches to overlapping pads. Starting from the top down, you have a dry/wet Blend control to manage how much of Melotus Versio's granular magic you want to hear versus your original signal. From there we have the Regeneration control offering anything from a simple repeat to infinity—this correlates to Melotus Verio's delay time, offering slow echoes all the way to cyclic tones. The tone control not only filters the grains in a highpass or lowpass fashion, but also adds shimmers or subharmonics for creating other-worldly textures.
On the granular side of Melotus Versio, you have several controls characteristic to most granular synthesizers and effects processors—such controls include length of grain, density/sparsity of grains, overlapping, grain window shape, and coherence to current buffer. I’m going to try to run both the Miezo and F Bass at various points. There’s a looper on the floor so I could get both rolling at once.
The BIM/Empress will be for other sounds.

The DJ mode looks like it could be useful to someone flying long backing tracks while messing with other gear, no?
I understand the MC101/707 have pretty nice sequencers these days, so it is a bit odd they’d not implement anything like that in the SP. but again, I really don’t know anything about those boxes. Sure loos like you could get some cool ideas going quickly though. Good price too

Sorry for the spam post...but this is one of the few places I enjoy hanging out here...thought you all might enjoy a sneak peak of a tune from the record I recently recorded. I had a hell of a time trying to get the bass part, and ended up recording it at home yesterday. It'll get reamped at the studio. Once I decided to try fretless everything just fell into place. Really happy it did because everyone else played so well.
Got a Mooer a7 ambient pedal coming in a couple days. I am hoping it can do at least one cool thing in a channel with Machine-MuRF-a7 at the end. Didn't see much mention and no real review on here. It doesn't have to be a great "bass pedal" to impress me, or at least warrant the small budget/footprint. If there's a better, 1590 wacky Reverb or mod or something I'd be open to it, but will see how it is at being ambient since that's the name of the pedal.
this is why i give myself the easy stuff to play and write the hard sh!t for other folks.

I have one that I'm selling... I may have mentioned something about it about 100 pages or so. Just not that into it, found some of the sounds absolutely useless. I was trying to build a miniboard until I realized there's not a lot of really great minipedals out there, especially in the ambient verb realm. Now if there was an Eventide Blackhole mini, I'd be all over that.

Sounds about right. For very one cool sounding module, there’s at least 3 other modules that can make it sound even cooler
