I think I might be interested in the new SP-404mk2, though I’ve never really wanted an SP before. Just the fx and resampling are pretty dang cool. This new one sounds like it can go well past lo-fi stuff as well

I'm going to hold out for a while, mine does the job fine for what I do atm.

FYI, they can all do more than LoFi %@#?# except the 202 cuz it has a 12 bit sample rate.
They where just used by a lot of hipster lofi soundcloud pseudo beat people who sampled the same ahmad jamal lick a million times

I'm still not back in NY. I'm a bit stuck to be honest...missing NYC pretty hard, but also have begun to enjoy more space. I miss playing more often for sure, though. Once the record comes out next year I'll put together something in NYC.

Are there any issues if you cut the LaBella low tension flats when installing them?

Had some issues with the Jamerson set, when you cut the E string to make it fit the tuner it would break the core and make the string impossible to tune/intonate.
Design defect anyone??

is it a round core string?

if so, it might be that cutting it severs the connection between the core and the winding.

this seems to be an issue with some round core strings (pyramid and thomastik) with instruments that have locking tuners (sperzels or some headless systems).

i’ve seen some folks discuss using super glue to adhere the core and wrapping together close to the tuner to alleviate this problem.

I have no idea if its a roundcore string.
And….I’m way to lazy to glue strings. Jeez a can barely get enough motivation to change strings, good thing I like them old and dead.

Do you if you cut them below the wrap at the end of the string? I haven't had to do that so I couldn't say.

I always leave tons of string at the end and wrap them as much as I can. Gives a better downward breaking point after the nut. When I have cut the string ends I've had no problem at all.

Also, the clip that I posted is the fretless that has TI flats on it right now. I haven't been able to get another high C from LaBella of the flats unfortunately. Hopefully I can again. The TI's are fantastic, but I've grown accustomed to the sound of the LaBella LTFs. I really love them.
