But, the NTS sessions seem to get more plays.
Damn Booth and Brown have insane creative minds. Once in a generation kind of stuff.

Still think the last 2 records are among the weakest they've made, yet always miles ahead any others in the field.

That sounds about right. I was initially into the sounds (especially percussion sounds), but I don’t find myself going back to the newer ones as often as some others. There’s at least something I like about all the ones I have, depending on my headspace at the time.

Recorded something a couple of days ago with the DFAM & Subharmonicon that's getting closer to what I want to do - overdubbed my Ric 8-string & Moog Sirin, but realized the Sirin was too much, so here is a mix with just the DFAM, SubH & Ric 8-string:



Next step - figure out how to trigger the kick drum in the MFB 503 Drumcomputer via MIDI with my MAQ 16/3, while also controlling the clock of the DFAM to do something similar.

One interesting thing - the DFAM can only do 8 steps, but somehow I ended up in 6/8 due to the progression the Subharmonicon seemed to be playing. The Ric is going through a Japanese chorus pedal (Vizion Analog Chorus) and Way Huge Pork & Pickle overdrive. Subharmonicon through MF-103 Moogerfooger, Budda Phatman overdrive, & Strymon blueSky. DFAM is just through the other channel of the blueSky.

Thank you everyone for listening - I know how hard it is to get people to listen to stuff and really appreciate it. Next year will mark 20 years of recording my own music!

I haven't tried the phaser in stereo in almost 20 years too! It's been interesting recording this stuff - my space is limited, it's all up on top of a 54 key Rhodes located pretty far from my ProTools rig, so I've been recording the synth stuff there into my Zoom H6. But there's limited space to plug in a bunch of effects, though I have been experimenting. Once I get a performance from the synths, then I import the files into ProTools to add more, and thinking of adding effects later, but since my system is old I don't have much in the box - but taking the signal out of my interface, into effects, and then back in is kind of a hassle. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

I was kind of surprised at/disappointed with myself - there are several times when I'm really rushing - it's when I hit on something and got excited - I wasn't listening, need to adjust the mix so I can hear the original tracks better while recording, and/or just need to practice more!

I was a bit skeptical too, until I got a chance to screw around with my buddy's SOMA Pulsar-23. Holy crap is their stuff well made! Do not drop it on your toe!

Of course, no one knows how it will hold up 2 or 3 or 10 years from now, but at least in terms of build quality, I'm pretty happy with their standards.

They seem to make army grade stuff.

No doubt the build quality is there! I was on the waiting list for the Pulsar, but backed out when my name came up. I’m not totally sure why

Every single time I have used kitchen implements in lieu of conventional percussion instruments -- and that has to have happened at least two dozen times in my career -- the results have been stellar. Wonderfully compelling sounds that genuinely contribute to a recording's sonic atmosphere while giving it a unique signature. Highly recommended. Yes, do go to the hardware store...but don't forget to check out the housewares aisle! Pots 'n' Pans FTW!

I also really like going through my kids toys to find some hidden sound treasures.
My oldest's RC car had some really cool samples last time.

I also have a small collection of files that I use like mini arcos on a variety of things.
That's my latest favorite.
