The Moog Mother 32's built-in sequencer allows you to do that, too, though the max ratchet is four notes per step.
I've also figured out how to use the arpeggiator on the Arturia Keystep to sort of "play the sequencer" by hand and play with the time divisions knob in realtime to do cool stuff. The Keystep has both MIDI out and CV out so this trick works any synth that has those inputs, including my MicroBrute, Mother 32, and Korg Volcas.
Now all this talk is making want to get into my music room and go to town...still need to finish what I'm doing with my bass pedalboard first.
with the prices going up this high, yeah I definitely consider mine done.

tried finding a 2nd amp head! the prices are f^][k insane.
side note:
yesterday I tried and old 135 watt Fender bassman with the 2 channels linked and blended, damn I was impressed.
Dont believe the gear snobs in the interwebs, the thing was an absolute monster through a 2x15 acoustic cab.

Yesterday was an unexpectedly good music day. I've been pretty tired from general drug fatigue and DST doesn't help though I like it being light later.
After class yesterday afternoon, I decided to just clear my head for a few minutes with the Super 6 and 75 minutes later I was like "oh s**t I just blew an hour on this!" A short clip of the Super 6 and Cosmos together is below. But "lost time" is always the sign of a good bond between musician and instrument IMO. Also: Super 6 is running in mono.
Then last night I had band practice with the instrumental band. I forgot a power supply for my synth. So I had to play all the synth parts on touch guitar. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. And I had a couple solos on the touch guitar that had my bandmates praising me -- they were moments where I just sort of stopped thinking and played. I've been doing these exercises that involve just going up and down one or two strings with one hand: very different from the position playing I've learned as a bassist. It appears to be really opening up my soloing.
This leads me to wonder if I should re-look into pitch-to-MIDI options. If I could run touch guitar into a synth, that would be, um, cool.

I was reading somewhere that a lot of the neon gas used in chip manufacture is primarily from Ukraine.with the prices going up this high, yeah I definitely consider mine done.

Yeah, other than one or two somewhat inexpensive, I think my board is done. I'm REAALLLY glad I got my synths the way I like em, as I can't imagine how much more they're all going to cost, pretty soon.
How y'all doing? I haven't been around much but I do check in every day.
Got my network server hit with a ransomware attack last month. I was able to recover without paying, but basically putting it back together's a real mess. Just imagine if someone said to you... I have your entire music/book/photo collection in a big pile in that room there. Go and sort it out. Thankfully, none of my multitrack were on that server.
Have the duo album mixed but now my partner's been AWOL for a few weeks (he lives in a very very different socioeconomic situation than I do and has a lot more to deal with) so that's on hold until I hear from him, so I've started working on my own album now. Got about 65 mins, trying to get it down to about 45.
6 string fretless should be here in another week or so.
Still trying to figure out how to make vibrations in the air that are pleasing to the ear. I'm at the bottom of a long, steep hill with a very heavy boulder to push.

The level feels a tad low (though we all know I'm now officially have impaired hearing in one ear). A few sections caught my attention though. What were you working with here?

Yeah they are a bit low through most of it, in part because of the louder section at the end and also because I didn't use any compression at the "mastering" stage (compression is something I feel like I screw up more often than I get right). The background drone is Dingwall NG >Lehle volume pedal > Echosystem > Light Pedal > Mercury7. The "lead" bass part is Ibanez SRMS800 > Rat > Mercury7 (lighter reverb setting). The "guitar" is my Ibanez Mikro 5 string bass with guitar strings > HX Effects > Orange combo amp. I mic'd the combo amp, and everything else was mic'd through my sealed 1x12 cab. Drums are Superior Drummer 3. Oh and I made the field recordings at the beginning and end though not with ideal mics...if/when I end up doing more field/nature recording I'll get better mics for that (right now I'm thinking about DPA 4060s but I also have a pair of Sennheisers I haven't tried yet).
That was very much just an experiment...not something to take seriously.

@JES: the super 6 sounds great. nice programming and track. curiosity: why are you only doing mono with it? midi to pitch sounds like a new rabbit hole to dig.
@ugly_bassplayer: some of those old bassman amps are no joke. btw, i also like to write dates as "xx month year," but i think of it as european, not french, but what do it know?

agreed I thought sy1 sounded decent then realised in the demo it was just the distortion behind it I liked hah!
Getting better sounds out of my kangra octave up fuzz / filter than all 100 whatever sounds of the sy1
Thank you! I only did mono for that one track to try it out. Mono is good if I'm stacking sounds and want to place them. But if it's Super 6 mostly on its own, or with 1 other thing, then there's no reason not to use it in stereo.
Relatedly, I am thinking of picking up a stereo distortion for it for more control of my grind. Want to go from light overdrive to all out. I tried it mono through my Elements for proof of concept and the concept is proven. I was thinking maybe EHX Overlord, though I hate the military decal. Other suggestions?
