Has a no-name 12AX7 installed. Bought off ebay for $200. Needed the Pre-Shape indicator LED replaced, and most of the case screws were partially stripped. Fixed all that and damn is this thing loud. Most impressive!

The layout is interesting. The front section feeds line-level signals via the small bundle of grey wires back to the effects send/return, tuner-out, and foot switch PCB, and the amp section is fed off that board with a two conductor shielded wire. I assume the pre-amp-only version of this unit just leaves the amp section out.

As seen in the pictures, I need a green cap for the master volume control. British Audio Service is out of them. Who else should I check with short of TE in England?

I looked at British Audio Service's web site. The knob is described as being from Ritel. Doing a Google search and trying to narrow it down a bit, I got to this page (where you can find Ritel part numbers):

While it's in German (?), the drop down menus help narrow it down (Farbe means color and they show you color bands). I don't speak or read German but I find if you read a German word phonetically, many are surprisingly similar or you can pick out the general meaning. Trace Elliot knob caps seem to be of the prismatic shape.

Looking at the datasheet for knob caps on Ritel's website, the heading says Bulgin Ritel range of knobs. Doing a Google search for that, I found this distributor list in the US:

Once you figure out the part number (from the Ritel page linked above) you could probably track down a local distributor.

The twist would be if Trace Elliot has/had knob caps molded (I guess that would be moulded in UK English) in a custom colour...then Trace Elliot/British Audio Service might be the only source (short of eBay or similar).

Good luck!!!

Im still trying to find one of these in good enough condition... Just used an BF bassman thru a Loco cab on a rock recording and it was great.... neither piece was mine, ,it belonged to the producer...

Darkhorse, if you ever want to sell that amp, email me me first..
