Wow! Great eye disssa!

I just picked up one of these myself. Fantastic preamp for that classic rock tone. I was going to take my own picture of the inside, but one of my screws is stuck. In the end I decided to upload your photo.

In retrospect, I should have given you credit for the photo. Hope you don't mind.

Hey..i have an SVT VR...i noticed you don't have the silly spring holders mounted onto your tubes. I took mine off because when my amp sits on top of the cabinet, they rattle soooo much. Do you ever notice not using the covers being a problem? do they ever fall out or anything??

mine don't make any noise, but you can slip some silicone fuel line tubing that's used on RC planes (sold at hobby shops) over the springs to keep them from rattling. i did this on a Traynor YBA-200-2 abd it worked great.

My tubes will be swapped for JJ's next week. I ordered them yesterday

My GOD I thought Ampeg SVT's had a lot of tubes. I guess every time you need to retube you must need to take a mortgage out...lol

It's not that bad...~$200.
Take care of that amp, and even used hard the power section should be good for several years.
