Amp stands?

Who uses them? Any downsides?

I usually run a 210 cabinet which weighs 60lbs. I'm trying to lift it off the floor so as to to rumble the house as much and so I can keep my pedal board tucked away neatly underneath.

So I'm looking for recommendations that will hold the cab upright as I'm also placing a 25lb head on it. Ideally it can hold at least 100 lbs. Bonus points if it can hold a mic stand so I can mic my cabinet

If you've got an extra $700 kicking around, Atlas Stands can set you up with a furniture-grade amp stand that is so good looking that your wife might let you keep in the living room:

i wouldn't mind getting my 35lb 1x12 up off the floor. Something foldable and portable please. Maybe one of those folding cab leg things? (Thanks to [Invalid or Expired Link Removed])

I just use a piece of 2 x 2 I found in a hardware store parking lot that I sanded and painted black. Works as well as any amp stand and looks totally pro. You will no doubt get milk crates recommended at some point. NEVER use a milk crate. They are the death of professionalism.

EDIT: Hmmm, just noticed you wanted to store your pedals under it. Didn't really read your post all that well, to be honest. I guess that lets out both 2 x 2's painted black and milk crates. Oh well, still going to leave this post up because you all know I'm right, dammit!

I never said they were good stages, I hate em, watch the bass stack wobble.....

come on hehe black cloth makes everything look good, even bass players :)

Hey thanks for posting this! This is EXACTLY what I need! And at $62.00 on Musicians Friend (my work computer won't let me shop much so I may find a better deal) this isn't too expensive either!

I have been looking for something just like what the OP describes and this is the ticket I think.

I've had two of those for quite a few years myself. IME they are a lot more stable if you lose the extensions. I've never had occasion to need them anyway though.

I'm using a folding aluminum camping table I bught at wally world in the sporting goods section. Light weight and folds flat and holds my 40# amp with ease. I clamp a mic holder to it I'm GTG. Not sure if it will hold your 100lb rig or not but for $20 it's worth a try.

... if I am only using a single 210AV, I always put it on one of those small folding portable keyboard benches ... the one I use is 12x 16, but my cabs are only 11 x 13 so it works out perfect .. raises everything about 19", and could put a pedal board over the front side of the X legs/feet and give it a bit of an angle even ...

... cab and head (MB200/500) is only 30 lbs at most though

.. best part, for long rehearsals/etc, when needed I just drop the cab/head and have a comfy seat ... ;)

Yeah, that's why I shortened the legs on mine to 18". They come stock at 24" , which is fine for a 112, or 115 cab, but, at the time, I was using a LDS 212/Horn cab that was all vertical configured, and 24" was too tall. There is really no reason to raise a bass cab more than 24", so, those inside legs keep it sturdy.
