Just wondering who is transporting their 8x10 in a vehicle other than a pickup truck or a van. I'm getting close to looking for another car and I think one of the criteria will be that it can transport an 8x10. I'm getting the itch.

Ampeg 8x10 in vehicles

I've seen people saying they fit it in a Ford Focus and a Prius also. Maybe I don't need a huge vehicle. I've always liked smaller cars for fuel efficiency.

I've had a pontiac vibe since 03. Its been absolutely amazing to haul gear with, its has plenty of room with back seats folded flat. Been able to get my Mesa 4x12 cab in there with plenty of room for everything else, even my guitar players half stack. I know pontiac is over, but the toyota matirx is the same car with different body styling.
I don't have an 8X10 but I haul a 410, amp rack, P.A amp rack, P.A. speakers, stands 2 basses in a Dodge Magnum, and still have room for a passenger. Plus it is a GREAT vehicle. I am really happy with it....
Well into middle age me, flogs a Taurus station wagon or my Ranger pickup for hauling stuff around these days. When I was young, I could fit two Kustom p.a. cabs, the ones with the two 15's and a 15 inch police horn into the back seat of my 63 four door Dodge. It could also easily handle any fridge sized bass cab of the day. I also could handle large bass cabs in a 75 Monte Carlo with the swivel bucket seats that I later owned. Easy access to the wide back seat, and a cavernous trunk for everything else. I have been looking at the Chevy HHR as of late, as they seem to be a slick, and affordable wagon with good fuel economy, and the retro styling appeals to old geezers like me.
ive had a ford taurus for years and i could fit 2 810s into the back. im glad my band got a trailer so the suspension on the car isnt continuously ruined tho lol.

I can hardly fit my 2 AGGy DB112s in my car.... I only use my 810 on larger gigs where the crew comes by to get it ... But i really want to use it on a regular gig.... that are so punchy!
When i was a kid my 801 fit across the back seat of my 65 Impala.. Wish i still had that car too..

I love small cars too.. great on gas.. easy to park in the city... and doing my part for air quality and fuel independence the best i can.
Just cant fit an 810 in mine unless i strap it to the roof.

+1 on the Dodge Magnum. With my rear seats folded flat I can easily fit my 810, 6U SKB rack, pedal board & 3 basses in rectangular hard shell cases and a passenger riding shotgun. OR I can fit my Warwick 410, rack & pedal board in the cargo area with rear seats up and 2 basses standing upright in the back seat with room for 2 passengers. They stopped production in 2008, but it's usually not too hard to find lightly used Mags @ good prices.
I can fit 2 basses, a behringer head, pedalboard, and 8x10 in my 2005 Sentra.

At it's fullest, I put an 8x10, pedal train pro, V4 in a road case, two basses in hard cases and a folding 3 guitar stand into my chevy aveo (aka daewoo kalos, holden barina, pontiac wave, and suzuki swift+ for the international crowd) with a passenger. Caveat here is that I have a vintage 8x10 so it's not as deep and a few inches shorter than the modern 810E, but I could also fit a 610HLF in that car so I'm sure the depth wouldn't have been an issue.

There's room for an 8x10 in my Chrysler PT Cruiser with the rear seat removed.
That said: I've been using the Bergantino NV610, which is every bit as good as the Ampeg 8x10 but lighter and smaller: point being, vehicle options aren't so limited. Just a suggestion.

I downsized from a Ford van to a Volvo wagon, and I love it. I can get all my stuff with a 4x10, and the drums, or my 8x10 et all with room to spare. Plus it gets pretty good mpg, and it doesn't look like a rape van...
I can fit an 810, old SVT, two basses in cases, and a backpack in the back of my '08 Impreza hatch with the back seats folded down. It's a cool little car.
I used to put mine in the backseat of 92 Honda Accord (Just take the pin out of the door hinge) I also could fit in in my Eagle Talon Hatchback...
I used to have an '02 Saab 9-3 hatchback. That thing could haul the bass rig (8X10"), the PA, two guitar rigs, and all the instruments. Basically, an entire band's worth of gear, minus the drum kit.
Even when loaded down, it'd still get between 25-28 mpg. And it was FAST!

It is suprising, but an Ampeg 810E fits in the back seat of a Lexus LS-400, too (even in the shipping box!).
