Ampeg B2RE for $50 new?

Hmmm... Let me get this straight; Are you suggesting that relative to this discussion, MF advertised a brand new Ampeg B2RE for $50 on purpose?
Do you honestly believe it wasn't an error?
That, in their infinite wisdom they thought it might be a good idea; a calculated marketing plan designed purely to hack off a bunch of bass players?

I think it might be mighty hard for them to prove it a mistake.

I must have been sick the day we covered the "P*ss Them Off" marketing strategy in school...

Right... because bait and switch and similar tactics are never used by businesses.

Cybersnyder,

Wait, wait, wait...I'm calling you out here...you actually jumped off your high horse and tried to take advantage of this obvious error in the system (please see quote two below)? Weren't you the morality police raining on our parade a couple of months ago regarding the Guitar Center multiple coupon deal? Because this is so much different...

Pot, meet kettle.

Uhh, dude? I think if you read his posts in THIS thread, you'll see that he actually said he wanted in on the deal if it was really a blowout - i.e. if the price was on purpose - but that he did not want "in" if the price was just a mistake.

Sure wish I saw this thread as soon as it went up! Excited that your package is in the mail....

well i emailed them calling them out on it, I dont mind canceling the order because i wasnt expecting to actually get it though it would of been nice in light of my HA5000 blowing a channel, but to charge me after canceling the order is just bad business especially when I needed the money for another purchase.

I'm going to email them too. How many frigging mistakes are we supposed to allow before giving our business to AMS, zZounds, Sweetwater, etc... permanently?

I hate to swear them off forever, but damn, I'm getting close....real close.

I emailed about it yesterday. They said a refund will take 2-3 days to show up. So I hope they did refund.

Didn't they charge you at the time you ordered?

If so, the difference is we are getting charged the day AFTER they canceled the orders.

So often when things are too good to be true, it can get ugly (or annoying, or frustrating). When I saw the original message, I had slight misgivings (bad karma coming my way, etc.) but I jumped in, anyway. I emerged unscathed-- or, at least I'll really know whether or not I'm unscathed when I get my next credit card bill... hopefully the MF guy who screwed up the price wasn't responsible for refunding the correct amounts on credit cards. :hmm:
I hope all the rest of us come out of it okay.

No offense, but there are a few middlemen here that can also be the problem.

Many purchsed through paypal... on their credit card.

As someone who owns a business that purchases Merchant Services from a third party, I can tell you that they themselves are typically more then 24 hour delay in each direction, just that actual service. In the case of paypal with a bankcard you now have two OTHER middle men that add onto the base 24 our minimum.

It is entirely possible that someone at MF processed your refund the best he could on his side, before you even find out it came out of your bank account.

I'm not saying it's not possible that they are delaying on these things, simply stating that you need to take into account all of the "middle-men" that cause delays as well.

Sheesh, some of you guys sure get your panties in a bunch over the smallest things.
50 bucks.
It was a gamble, we lost, move on. No one stole anything from us.
Believe it or not, the world doesn't OWE US anything, but I see some folks have quite a sense of entitlement.

The charge is still pending in my bank account since I used a debit card, it will go away before it clears. This has happened to me many times before.

So what if the charge shows up the next day? Some billing entries take time for the employees to get to. For example, I just had a bill for a motel stay show up on a credit card 2 weeks after I returned home. The deposit went through in one day. This happens.

It's also reality that refunds take longer to process, but I always get them.

If you feel like you have been intentionally cheated then you'll need to hire a lawyer and take MF to court.
