If you are going to save up for an Ampeg head, I'd just get a used origional SVT. The modern ones (even the all tube ones) just don't sound as good as the vintage ones to my ears.

I got my SVT II non pro for £500, wooo, and the way prices seem to compair, i would try and get him to lower the price a bitrevlover said:I am currently looking at an older SVT III (NOT pro), good working condition. What are people's thoughts on this model? They're asking USD$900.
Im pretty much in the same mindset as you there, I wont be changing amps any time soon i dont think!deichman said:............... the SVT CL sounds great. I haven't experienced a vintage SVT for many years. I bought a brand new SVT_CL last year. I love it. To me, it's just a no nonsense amp. I can get pretty much any tone I want from it. I am also running it through the 810E cab. The last amp I'll ever need.
