If you are going to save up for an Ampeg head, I'd just get a used origional SVT. The modern ones (even the all tube ones) just don't sound as good as the vintage ones to my ears.

I got my SVT II non pro for £500, wooo, and the way prices seem to compair, i would try and get him to lower the price a bitrevlover said:

............... the SVT CL sounds great. I haven't experienced a vintage SVT for many years. I bought a brand new SVT_CL last year. I love it. To me, it's just a no nonsense amp. I can get pretty much any tone I want from it. I am also running it through the 810E cab. The last amp I'll ever need.

I don't like Ampeg cabs much. For me, all I like about Ampeg is the all tube heads and the older cabs as well.
I just want to see if thier is a big difference between ported and sealed cabs when using an all tube head, ive read on here there is, i just want to check that out, i dont think im getting the full ampeg sound cus im using my peavey cab
i have a new svt-cl and ive used it with the ampeg 4x10 + 1x15 combo, then an ampeg 810, and i was never satisfied...too boomy and too muddy....then i found the bergantino nv series...all i can say is wow...i own the nv425 and played the nv610 as well...they both rock with all tube amps....incredible...check them out....
