I am currently looking at an older SVT III (NOT pro), good working condition. What are people's thoughts on this model? They're asking USD$900.
I got my SVT II non pro for £500, wooo, and the way prices seem to compair, i would try and get him to lower the price a bit

............... the SVT CL sounds great. I haven't experienced a vintage SVT for many years. I bought a brand new SVT_CL last year. I love it. To me, it's just a no nonsense amp. I can get pretty much any tone I want from it. I am also running it through the 810E cab. The last amp I'll ever need.

Im pretty much in the same mindset as you there, I wont be changing amps any time soon i dont think!

May get an Ampeg cab tho, either a 4x10 or 8x10 (maybe a 6x10), just want a good chance to compare the different cabs, ported vs unported etc . . .

Anyway, back on topic. . .

i have a new svt-cl and ive used it with the ampeg 4x10 + 1x15 combo, then an ampeg 810, and i was never satisfied...too boomy and too muddy....then i found the bergantino nv series...all i can say is wow...i own the nv425 and played the nv610 as well...they both rock with all tube amps....incredible...check them out....
