Ampeg PF-350 Mega-Thread, V2.0

I'm looking for a sale on the 210av as well. It looks like the perfect portable practice cab. I've got an avatar tb153 that comes in at 48lbs, and the 26lbs of the 210av is very appealing. Keep us posted if you see anything. I'm expecting guitar center to have an end of year sale or coupon for 15% off again.

In case you're interested, Bass Northwest (I'm not affiliated with them) is having a great year-end sale right now. Just ordered my 210AV on Friday. I should have it in a couple of days.

I still love my portaflex 350' been using it for 2 years now the little, sucker is a tank. I upgraded to a portaflex 500 for a metal band I joined out of town. But when I'm home I use the 350 for the home band. Very easy to dial in my sound and it's sounded great at gigs and saved my back a lot of unnecessary heavy lifting. I have nothing but love for the 350 and am always telling my other bass player friends about it.

I picked up a PF-350 and a PF-210HE cab as part of a "package deal" on Saturday. I haven't spent much time with the cabinet yet, but gigged the amp with a pair of Bergantino 1x12's that night...gotta say I was pleasantly surprised! I usually drive that rig with a Mesa Boogie Walkabout head, but was really digging the Ampeg!

Question for those that may know: If I want to mount the PF-350 on the cab lid to use as a flip top, what hardware is necessary? I didn't receive anything from the original owner, and didn't find any mention in the manual for the amp or the cab. Do I use the hardware that currently secures the rubber feet? Do I need to pick up something different?

(Did some searching on TB, didn't come up w/ anything on this.)

Don't know the length but don't forget some finish washers. Hey wait, did you get the bag for the wheels with the cab? Look in there to see if the screws are in it. They should have come with it. I also put faucet washers under the finish washers to isolate more vibrations from the chassis and so the finish washers wouldn't cut the tolex.

Not in the bag with the wheels...:crying:

If anyone gets a quick minute, let me know how long the factory supplied ones are, then I can match up at Lowes or wherever. Thanks!

Hi there guys!
I bought my PF350 a little more than a year ago. I absolutely love it! I use it with a custom 2x10 cabinet and also use it with 4x10 sometimes. I has always sounded amazing. I use some effects through the loop and it gets hot as it can be. Concerning the gig bag I had an old laptop case that works great. Cheers from Brazil guys! Rock on.

Well lookie here...got this one as part of a trade package a few weeks ago, finally got a few pics. So far I'm enjoying the PF-350...gigged it the first night I got it with 2 Bergantino 1x12 cabs, and it sounded great. Haven't had the PF-210HE cab out of the basement yet, but been using it for rehearsal, and its a solid cab.

You could fully mod that into a flip top to make it a super cool use for the cab.

Later on I might fabricate a carrier in the rear where the amp chassis used to be, to hold the PF-350 in place when it is being transported. I have a guitar buddy who is a master woodworker - he could build a factory looking hinged cover with the proper Ampeg blue diamond covering, to convert what is now unused empty space into useful storage.

Right now I'm using a laptop bag to transport the head. It has a storage compartment for cables, etc.

Doing the carrier mod would make this a great grab-and-go rig since the PF-350 weighs a lot less than the old B200-R chassis did.
