Ampeg PF-350 Mega-Thread, V2.0

I think it'll do exactly what you're wanting. I do gigs like that with a little 35w combo practice amp with a 10", and it's not even a B102 inside.

Cool, that makes me more confident. I thought about getting a combo, but nothing short of a 2 x 10 or 1 x 15 gigging combo has the wattage to handle the outdoor setting. Showing up to an acoustic strum session with that would be a 60lb buzzkill. It would just be out of place.

Nice thing about going the way I'm going though is that I'll be ultra portable without being painted into that corner. If needed, I can build or buy a 1 x 15 cab and I'm ready to step up to playing with a band.

I'm using mine with an SVT 210 HE and am having a few issues with the low end dropping out silent, particularly if I whack an open low E too loud. Am I sending too much through it? I may be picking up a rock gig soon and will probably need to add a second cabinet anyway; should that solve the problem?

Hi! I recently bought the PF-350 and it's really amazing! I love the simplicity of its controls and the fact that u can get that ampegy rock sound without effort.

Although I have a question and I think this is the best place to do it. In the Ampeg Youtube channel Dino tells that I can take the gain to 10 to crank up the amp and don't worry about the red light cause its an SS amp. I like it very much the sound I get with the gain all the way up but I worry about that creepy light, so... If the light keeps flashing all the time, can I do something wrong to the amp? Or I can keep with that setting and enjoy that little warm grit that all of us love?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers from Argentina!

I crank the gain on my PF-350 because it sounds better that way. It's not a problem at all. Enjoy!

Thanks guys!! Soooo I'll crank it up (If that expression exists, ha) then with no afraid of break the PF.

Nice little Mega-thread, this one!
Didn't know it was out there.
I love my Pf-350 too, play it every day with a 210AV cab at home.

Yeah! We have to turn it into a real MEGA thread, hahaha.

FWIW, I love how it sounds with my MXR Bass DI, it gives me another flavour, an active kind of type sound when the classic P+ampeg sound doesn't fit (rarely happens but it happens...)

Hi! I've recently become in love with this amp.

A little backstory: for all of my musical life (not too long anyways) I've played with a Peavey Combo 115 (black widow speaker) that I inherited from an uncle. I was happy with it until I started gigging and playing more seriously. Even then, I couldn't really be bothered to dig in the vast array of amp/cab offerings out there in the market, nor I had the money for that venture. Anyways, not too long ago we started rehersing in a rental space with my band that has a PF350 in it with a Hartke Hydrive 115 cab. I fell in love with the ampeg sound. I couldn't believe how good it sounded! So I've decided to part ways with my old peavey (which also weighs a TON which makes it a pain to lug around) but I'm unsure on what cab to get for my future pf 350.

I wouldn't have that much cash left and there's also not a huge market in my country. I've settled for a 210, and was looking at the Hartke HD210. Has anyone gotten that amp/cab combo? Any input is appreciated. Other options are the EBS 210 Classic line or an ampeg B115E (I really would prefer a 210 but if you tell me this is the better option, I'll consider it). Thanks!

I use mine with an SVT 210av or PF112hlf, which are more medium duty cabs, but if you want something heavier duty in a 210, PF210he should be fairly common in most countries. Got nothing against Hydrive cabs, though. They're probably my favorites of the Hartke line. No experience with the EBS stuff, though.
