Grats Hutz, there are a few of us anticipating new pf heads and cabs. I'm super stoked about mine which I get to put my grubby paws on in less than 24 hours now. And I don't have to worry about tube tone either, those bad boys are dialed in! No tubes necessary.

I wanna get a VT bass pedal as well though. Every one who has one seems to love them. I just have to decide whether to get the deluxe or the basic model.

I won't say I upgraded but I "side-stepped" from a Micro VR with 2 SVT210AV cabs. Not happy about the increase in weight but I will probably only gig with 1 cab tilted anyway.

Here's a shot from my gig this weekend with the PF-500 and 410HLF in full force...

That would be better than a Groove Tube :D

JJ is my go to tube for just about everything. Until I tried this Mullard reissue (not in a SVT 7 Pro). I still keep a JJ around though.

Edit: For the record my PF350 and 2 PF115 cabs come in on Thursday. Not tube related, but I am stoked :D

Doesn't Groove Tubes make (or at least market/sell as a GT brand) the Mullard reissue you are talking about?

GT had/has their own mullard reissue but so does Sovtek. I'm not sure if they're the same tube or not but now that Sovtek is selling, GT is not, so my guess would be they were not the same (Sovtek probably bought the rights to the name like they did with Tubg-Sol, Svetlana, etc.).

I just looked it up...yes they do ;)

Ok I just looked at both tubes. Definitely different plate structures. Don't know who makes it but it doesn't use the same plate as a Groove Tube.

Edit: The Groove Tube I have is of the "C" variety which means they are made in China, and not the same as the New Sensor made Mullard.

Pretty sweet! Love the black Ric, too. I love the sound of Rics...just wish I could play them.

Thanks, Jimmy. It was the first time I've played my Ric for most of the night and it cut through the mix nice. We were playing with a second guitarist for the first time in 6 months and the Ric helps find your "space."

Yeah, I have seen lots of different tubes with the Groove Tubes label, and certainly not all of them are created equal. FWIW, I have one of the GT-branded Mullard reissues, and to my ears, it sounds very different from my NOS Mullards.

Ok, help me decide. I have the Micro VR and one SVT210AV cab...nice little setup but I am falling more and more in love with the PF350/210HE setup. I haven't played this setup yet but I've combed through all the YouTube videos and read the threads on here...from what I can tell, it's very similar to what I have now (tonally) but just more power...and who doesn't want more power! And selling the MicroVR rig would get me most of what I need to make the purchase.

Different rigs, both are excellent. The 210HE sounds an awful lot like the early B-15 cabs, while the 210AV sounds like a mini-SVT, as you well know. Can't go wrong with either IMHO...just different flavors of Ampeg.
