Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Alright guys. Here's a shure 57 test run. No post production. Bass down 1 knotch, mids up 1/2 a knotch, treble up 1 knotch.

It sounds pretty darn decent man. Hahaha. Even with me playing ;)

I need a beta 52

Oh, wear headphones or use speakers. It's bass.

Thanks for this nice demo, and hey! you EQ the same way I do! Also save your $$ cause the Shure 57 does fine as a bass recording mic.

According to your point though, you will never buy any combo amp. So what's your interest in an ext out anyway?

I have yet to see any combo that has an extension plug that is a speakon connection.

My interest would be running 2 12's. That would be a sweet rig when needed.

Peavey Max combo's use speakon. As does Ashdown. And Acoustic.

The point is this is a brand new design/ release from ampeg. Shocked the new tech was not used.

It's only 100 watts . 100 watts of the company's economy line . A 300 watt SVT doesn't need them . It would be nice to run a PF 112 with these though . Add a 1/4 out and go 8 ohm combo . 50 or 60 watts at 8 ohm .
But the idea of this amp is to be very inexpensive . If this amp won't cut a gig with no FOH . Bring something that will . This is a grab and go fun( studio/bedroom) amp first and foremost . And it just happens to sound good . I really wouldn't expect a lot more out of one of these . I figure it will probable work fine where I use my B100R .
It is pretty much firing on every cylinder if you ask me .

This is what Ampeg offers for small combo 2x12 . But this is where price point comes in .
50 watts and I can use it at any gig . View attachment 4326912
Well, really what you want is your 50t or the other pf, and a 212av. For small combo 212 at a better price point. Way more portable also. But personally, it doesn't look as nice.

I have 2 SVT 112s also . The two single cabs are actually more portable . The 212 AV , I like with a V4b or SVT . The PF50T works great on 2 SVT 210 AVs . It kills with the 210's in a small venue .

I went into my local store to check if they have the RB112 in stock yet. They didn't. So I walked out with an Ampeg SCR-DI. GAS works in mysterious ways.
The SCR's alright. I got one of them too. Personally, I like the Fender downtown express better though. Only problem with that is the footswitches are too close together. But, it's got a really vintagey tone to it. Which is killer. Cause, if I'm using a pre amp, it's because I want something different. And, that one gives it to me.

Have you tried a 112av yet? It's about the most perfect sounding 112 cab in existence. Except for volume, I actually dug my 112 more than my 212. Size and weight is the deciding factor on whether it's the "best 112" or not.
