Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

I’m still curious as to how the RB-112 will compare sound-wise with a B-100R (haven’t seen any RB vs. B comparisons here). I just sold one of my B-100Rs, so I might have to buy an RB-112 and find out for myself. I anticipate that the difference in timbre will be significant. (Not considering an RB-115 because I’d never use the extension speaker feature.)
So it shall be written. So it shall be done.

Alright guys. Here's a shure 57 test run. No post production. Bass down 1 knotch, mids up 1/2 a knotch, treble up 1 knotch.

It sounds pretty darn decent man. Hahaha. Even with me playing ;)

I need a beta 52

Oh, wear headphones or use speakers. It's bass.

Hi everyone,

Just ordered RB112 and it’s all your fault Jeezy :roflmao: Thanks for videos  they have convinced me finally to get one.
I’ve had many different combos but since I have SVT3pro/610hlf I wanted to have my favorite ampeg sound in lightweight package for home practicing or quiet rehearsals with just the guitarist. I think it will do the job perfectly.
I will share my impressions after trying it out ;)

That's right!

It seems to get better the more you play it too

Eugene, how is it that you have a 210 so soon? Apparently mine will not be shipped until September!

Let us know how it performs when you have a chance at a gig. It will probably be similar to your Rumble 500 I suppose.
I'm in Australia.
It will be very similar to the Rumble 500 volume wise.
I'll get a chance to play it out at some point in the next few weeks, and I'm looking forward to hearing how it sits within the band mix.

The Rumble 500 is a very solid amp. Looking forward to the gig comparison.
Agreed.
I've used the Rumble on wedding gigs, and also on pub gigs.
It's been pushed hard and has been really great in all applications.
I do wish the Ampeg had a gain knob....I love the sound of an Ampeg when the gain is pushed and it gives that extra bite.
But both amps sound great and I'll report back once I've driven the Ampeg at loud volumes with my current rock band.

Do you notice any sound improvements from the amp wedge shown in the picture? I’m getting the 112 and mainly using for home/studio recording.
Tilting any front ported cab or combo makes it project at your ears a little better . I put everything on a isolation pad or tilt single speaker cabs . Use your ears to hear what's best for the room .

Yo, I just had a real studio run with this guy. Di. Played, re amped, adjusted, leveled. This thing is a killer little studio rig.

Speakers or headphones. Dub bass

Sounds good my man! Looks like your having a great time with it so far. It’s this or the 15”
For me I can’t think of anything better in this price range.

Well, I got the RB-115. Really nice with the Jazz bass; (love your sunburst J- @JeezyMcNuggles :bassist:) EQ flat; no SGT, and Ultra-high engaged!!

Tonight, however, I pulled out a few more stops- hooked the Dapper Bass DI box into effects loop- thusly-

Kept the EQ on amp flat- SGT on halfway, level to match volume.

Dapper premamp and boost/comp on- boost at 9:00, compression at noon. Preamp gain at 10:30, volume 10:00, bass, mid, treble just a touch- at 12:30. Tuner worked great!!- here is is without the carnival midway treatment ;)

WOW!! That SGT circuit is magic!! Lots of useful, subtle “hair” possible; and all the way up?? If that’s not enough hair- plug yer fuzz box into the effects loop!!

The Dapper preamp is great- gets a bit of SVT overlay onto the B-15 character. It’s a very good “fly rig” amp/DI for this alone- the rest is just, well FUN:hyper:

The boost gives a bit of heat to the signal; like a “Spark”, it’s a 12db boost. This combined with a rather straightforward one knob compression yields a nice, SVT, vintage thing.

The Rocket Bass 15” Eminence speaker is Great!!! lt will get better when I can get a few more hours on it. I’m glad I got this one-

I have a 210 cabinet I can pair with this- That will be reported on as well! ;)
