Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

I'm currently looking at one of these,and quite frankly some of the past issues scare me a bit. I currently play an Eden 1205 or Hartke LH 500 that do clean really well,but I want something with a natural sounding old school overdive. Not super saturated,but pushed just a bit. Will the 7 do that?

I'd like to report that after my 7Pro had problems the first time (cut-outs) and was replaced and then my 2nd 7Pro had problems (Output into speakers randomly died) and was repaired, I had no issues. I think I've had it for over a year now.

Highly recommended now that they solved their issues.

Played in a blues band with a female singer that could really belt it out. The band were all pros (except me).
Ran the amp through a 610 HLF cabinet. Gain at 10:30 Volume at 10:30. Sounded great, worked perfect.The manager had me turn it down after the first song, mission accomplished!

Just thought I'd share this with you:

At the beginning of May, my 7PRO sizzled, shorted and released all of its precious magical blue smoke. The culprit was a power supply related IC that had exploded and left smoldering debris all over the mainboard, effectively ruining it.

Got it back two weeks ago with a pristine, factory fresh mainboard:

Apart from playing it myself, I have been endurance testing it for ~1,5 hours everyday since then to regain some confidence in the correct working, using two 8 Ohm dummy loads and the looper from my Zoom B3.

I've used my trusty old Trace Elliot 250 watt head in the time the 7PRO was undergoing repairs but man does the SVT sound sweet compared to the Trace.

Since getting my 7PRO back in my 4U rack and hauling it around to and from practice I was wondering why I put a light, 2U class D amp in a regular depth 4U enclosure. The 4U case was on special sale when I got it and I figured that perhaps I would be using a power conditioner and a Tech21 VT Bass or something similar in the future.

The compelling event to buy the 7Pro (next off course to sweet tone) was so I wouldn't have to lug around my 22KG/48lbs Trace Elliot head anymore. The 4U/7Pro combo saves me some weight but the dimensions are far bigger than the TE head.

Is there anyone who can recommend a solid, snug fitting double door 2U enclosure for the 7PRO? I've heard stories about SKB shallow cases fitting nicely but perhaps anyone here can back that story?
