Ampeg SVT-II appreciation thread

I got a simple 4RU case- brand??? Hardcase??? Dunno?? Just that it's solid, -wood walls not plastic, - has decent latches & that it's not a long case(deep) just the right size for the SVT2. The four rear 'feet' poke out the end with the doors/lids off-as do the rack handles on the front panel, but thats all. Might drill a few air holes in the 'fan side of the amp' case where the fan sux air in.... just to let a bit more air around- even tho it's OK as it is.
Peace,
Rod

every time I try to google a schematic it brings up the SVT2Pro, and I get the feeling they're different enough to avoid.

Anyone have one digitally? Or could at least tell me what the voltage is from the footswitch jack? I'm trying to build one and add an led. A simple SPST switch is in order, correct?

Of course, a schematic I could save would be nice for future reference...

Hey dudes

I havin trouble get my svt to grind, at the mo use it with 2 x 800 watt rms boxes so it is hella loud without grind.

- should I reduce to one 800 watt rms box to get the grind?

- should I krank the master up full and control the input gain somewhere else to get the grind

- how else to get the grind with a p bass

- which cabinets grind nice with the SVT II?

cheers

James

Using half the speakers you would be able to get a bit more, but not much. Dont worry about the capacity of the speakers, thats not the problem.

If its a II, surely you only have the master volume :p

But here's an idea, use your graphic EQ, crank the level slider as far as it'll go, and play about with the volume to get something useable.

These things dont like grinding while being quiet! One of the few reasons i still have a BDDI!

Now theres a mighty fine tip!

Yeah I got a SA PBDDI, but my neo speakers dont like it!!! Drives me f'in crazy!! every time I wack it on I get a shrill, mid less, muddy bass mess.

plug bddi in my studio and it sounds awesome again really bugs me!!! Also on more old school speaker types it sounds good
