Here's something that might interest the Nirvana fans in the thread...Krist Novoselic with an Ampeg SVT-II

picked up a rack case, and don't worry, I've added a custom cooling solution.
two 80mm pc fans wired to a switch in push pull powered by an old 12v adapter I rewired.
even before it was cased, the top of the amp would get VERY warm to the touch, almost hot. Now it barely even feels warm after 2 hours of play.

I like that idea. Clean, efficient and minimal.
I had a time figuring out how to have a rack where the amp could sit on it's feet because of the weight and breathe on the bottom along with having a large enough space on the sides for venting.
I had one built with a larger frame around the edges. I replaced the 1/2" rubber feet with 1" feet that gave me 1" space on the bottom and 2" on the sides.
yeah I don't like the idea of only the 4 front screws holding my the 70lb amp. My rack case has rear mount also, but I don't have nor can I find brackets to use to replace the back feet so I can rear mount it for more stability. I saw someone with them once, but can't find them again.
^ Hey guys
The SVT-II and 2-Pro are made to be bolted in eight different places - many users just don't realize it.
In addition to the four front facing rack holes, there are four threaded holes on the bottom of the chassis.
Here is a photo of a build I did a few years ago that illustrates what I am referring too:

This is basically a copy of the model Ampeg was building for the SVT-II when it first came out - only this is my light weight version (no extra hardware for handles).

I would love one of those SVT cases. But damn, it's already heavy enough.

It is much easier to handle with case on - it only adds about 6 or 7 pounds - and it is still a few pounds lighter then the SVT-CL total.
*I am not trying to sell these - it is too hot in Tempe right now !!

That large wooden case only weighs 6 or 7 lbs? The same style case for my Mesa 400+ has to weigh at least 20 lbs, if not more.
