Ampeg SVT212AV 2X12

I had a V4BH from '06 which was an alright amp, but this one certainly has better looks. If it sounds as good as it looks, I'll be getting in line for one, probably with the matching 212 cab. Nicely done Ampeg.

U.S. street prices should be around $1299. That will vary internationally as distributors and dealers can set their own prices

HA! I started this post this morning & I just got off work. Alot has happend since I was gone lol. Great job Ampeg I was forever your loyal fan & this just seals the deal. Now! Can we also PLEASE get that SVT212 can in a regular "cheaper" version at some point? I'm having a massive coronary just thinking about stacking two of those cabs under my Ampeg 4Pro.

Rod, I get the money thing, but with a 4 Pro, no way I could settle for cheaper cabs. I could settle way sooner for a cheaper bass and amp than the cab. The cab is the biggest determiner of how good your sound is, other than your playing, of course. That said, those Portaflex cabs are less expensive and sound really good and they could probably do a nice 212 cab. But it pays in tonal bliss to use good cabs.

I've played dang near every cab & cab combo under the sun. I was even running two 4X12 cabs from Red Star Audio when they were around. When I say cheaper I mean Classic series. The Ampeg 810E classic is my best friend & best cab on the planet in my book, nothing cheap about it. If I could get that Ampeg flow in two 2X12 cabs I'd be loving life. I missed out on the SVT412HE. I wish Ampeg would bring that back & put these new 12" speakers in it. Yes the portaflex cabs do sound great. I was thinking of the PF410 for my 7Pro btw.

Oh, I thought you were talking about cabs like the B-series that got discontinued last year. Well if you're just talking Classic vs. AV, that's different since that's all cosmetic, though the CL cosmetics are a little cheaper.

Never mind ;)

LOL it's cool bro, a little cheaper is always better. That way I can buy my old lady some flowers to distract her from the new cabs I bought.

Even with the AV grille, these are still firmly in the classic series. The price would have been the same if they were dressed in black, at least with these particular cabs. Put an AV cloth on a 410...boom...AV.

Can't wait to hear the new V4B through my SVT412he!
