Weren't the black square lines used on the V-4B since it's release in '71, while the SVT remained Bluelined until '73 or so?

I don't recall ever seeing a stock V4,VT-22,V4B with blue line graphics. My V4 has the blue, but it is a repro faceplate from Fliptops.net.

Transitions are always a bit fuzzy but by the end of 72/start of 73 the SVT was black lines along with the B15, V4, VT series, etc.

Graphics are '72 - ' 74.

I am not 100% - but I think the last of those aluminum knobs were used in '73.

My '76 has the same graphics and knobs, but it's a V4 not a V4B.

Definitely seen VT-22s, VT-40s, and B25s with blue line graphics. Never a V4 though.

Hey guys, been wanting to buy a V4 after playing a couple of friends' on both bass and guitar.

There's a pretty nice one for sale but it's the later version with the distortion knob.

Does anyone have any experience with this model? Likes/dislikes?

i think the first distortion ones were from the mid ate 70's.. IIRC those are fine. the later black heads i am not so sure about

yeah it's a late 70's model that I'm wondering about. any reason I should hold off and look for an earlier version without the distortion?

Hi V4 guys! I too am an Ampeg lover. I have a V4 ish amp that I need some help with. It's from the Magnavox era, on the back it says "V4" on the front it says "VT-22" is it still a V4? if not what is it? it's in really good shape. is it something I could sell here?

Master volume V4B's...turn up the master up to 3:00 at least, and use gain to control volume. Sounds like the non-master V4B's.

Gonna give this a shot with my V4BH, not too sure what to expect as I haven't done as much experimenting with the amp as I would've liked yet.

Not done it on a V4B of any kind, but it makes my Heritage SVT-CL sound just like my Blue Line.
