Another reason why I'm NEVER getting married!

Sounds like you hate people who smoke weed. That's a shame.

Yes, the ex-wife is bad for taking everything from him, but that's partly the husband's fault for having a GIGANTIC knee-jerk reaction to the reefer. Sounds like if he chilled the hell out, he wouldn't be suffering so much. So your neighbor is an idiot and you can tell him I say so.

I say, he didn't want illegal substances and illegal actions performed in his home, to which he'd be responsible. I'd say, you're a waste of oxygen, and the bottom rung of the social ladder. You can go tell your mommy I say so.

Plus from my understanding she never lied to him about it, just about quitting it. As anyone who has ever had to quit cigarettes can tell you, the first time you try to quit is not always successful.

So, partaking illegal drug use, and not letting your spouse know about it, is acceptable to you? Keeping a truth from someone you "love" is not lying?

Your flawed logic astounds me.

Avoided jumping into rehashing the past on this one BUT

1) Judicial system IS stacked against males
2) I've seen numerous men legally ruined. Some by choice.
3) Pre-nups work
4) Never say never

And the big "problem" here WITHOUT making "social" or "moral" judgement here:

Bringing illegal drugs into your home(yes, the one you're paying for) means that you may forfeit your ownership if "busted". If someone else is trying to "lose it for you" you've every right to be PO'd. I doubt anyone here wants to lose all their stuff because of another's behavior.

In the case being discussed, we once again have proof of:
love being blind or lust causing blindness.

I'm not trying to bring down all the tokers here. I don't personally have a problem with those who smoke pot. It's the stoners who waste away being constantly high that I have a sour opinion.

My neighbor did not want weed in his home. She got caught, promised to reform, refused and went behind his back hiding things in the basement. There's no excuse or explanation that can remedy such a lie.

Oh by the way... his first wife was the town drunk. She was at EVERY bar, and known at every one. and when she got drunk, she'd turn into a screaming shouting confrontational monster that my whole block could hear, cuz the bitch would make sure windows were open in the home so sound could travel. Real prize winner there.

Ok so this innocent guy happens to have married two women, both of whom have substance abuse problems, and whom bring a lot of chaos wherever they go. Right.

Sounds like theres a lot more to the story than he's telling you. You think you're going to have sympathy for him when wife #3 turns out to be addicted to cocaine?

we're talking about marijuana here not heroin. 2 VERY different drugs.

Plus from my understanding she never lied to him about it, just about quitting it. As anyone who has ever had to get clean can tell you, the first time you try is never successful.

It almost sounds to me as if the guy needed an excuse to dump her and used the first one he could find.

fixed it for you.

I have to agree with Bryan here. The father was just being responsible.

My best friend does weed every now and then. Whilst I'm totally against drugs I don't care if he does them, it's his life. I don't mind if he comes over here to hang out and gets stoned, just as long as my parents aren't home and he smokes out in the backyard.

But just because I am tolerant of people smoking weed, that doesn't mean when I'm married with kids I'd let my wife smoke with the children. I would have told her to give up or get out too.

Which carries absolutely no meaning other than a self-serving ego massage. Worse than that it implies that the wrongdoer has done nothing wrong. I speak specifically of this woman who has twice now, screwed with the OP's neighbor.

Unasked for forgiveness allows me to carry out normal human relationships. People are flawed, they do things they shouldn't / don't mean to. They need forgiving so I can continue to be friends / coexist with them. Forgiveness != exemption from wrongdoing.

I don't think describing the way I choose live my life as "self-serving ego massage" is very respectful.

Gotta agree with Toasted. The whole "forgiveness isn't a one way transaction" thing is BS. Does that mean you have never forgiven a person who hasn't asked for you to do so?

If a friend drops your beer on his way back from the bar, does he have to ask for forgiveness? :hmm: Naturally any person would just say "don't worry bout it" without waiting for the person to ask.

Yeah...Bryan, you're leaving very many important facts out...

1-Seriously, we need to know if she's hot.
2-Because if she's hot, human nature says we put up with more crap from them because...well...of the hotness.
3-Ever think about this scenario: anybody have any friends in high school that their parents let drink at their house? I'm not talking about keg parties in the basement but if they were cooking out or something, they'd let their children, around 16-18, have a beer or two? Its a common practice in many parts of the world. It teaches the young person to drink responsibly because they're with their parents who set an example of how to socially enjoy something. So the kids see exactly how stupid it is to buy as many Busch Light's as they can afford and down them all in a night...

Now, on the other hand we have some kids who are smoking pot. No, the mother smoking the pot shouldn't have kept it from her husband but I have a feeling some facts are missing from this story. So here's my scenario...the kids ask their mother about it. Now, should she feed her kids the same propaganda that the gov't fed america during the 50's about weed or should she sit them down and actually tell them about it? Such as use, and how it can be abused just like anything else on earth...so she sits them down, in a controlled environment, and lets them smoke, if they want to, of course, to see what its like. Now...I'd much rather do this myself than just let them run around town doing stupid $**! while they're stoned with their friends.

4-Seriously...we need to know if she's hot.

And I'll leave you all with this...
