Hahaha, I totally freakin' remember the Channel Surfers. I saw them more than a few times lives actually. The bass work on their first album was pretty awesome.

Also, more awesome bass work came from The Supertones (back when ska was trendy). Tony had some insane stuff going on.

Barren Cross was a mix of influences from Black Sabbath, Dio, and a couple hair bands. They broke up many years ago but are poised to make a comeback.

human clay is actually a brilliant piece of music as a whole.
mark tremonti is an amazing songwriter.

barren cross was heavily influenced by iron maiden IIRC.

FWIW-it is too bad we put labels on music

yeah i dig stryper.
when they first started apparently they never got much support from the christian community; two thirds of their album sales were in the secular market.

i di see them live in 1990 in a club and it was simply the best show i had seen up until that point.
i thought they were a good heavy band regardless of the label.

yep-mark oozes melody and really understands composition.
his arrangements of certain things are nothing short of genius at times.
i do not think he is a great guitarist; a much better all around musician IMO

Totally agree. I liked Creed's music the first go around regardless of how Stapp handled himself and just about wet myself the first time I heard Mark "unchained" in AB and then with Myles on lead vox, it was just a perfect storm. Easily in my top 3 modern bands, no question.
Mark does get a little noodly for me at times but he can play anything he writes (thankfully- see Kirk Hamster lol ;)) live so I give him props for that. Some solos are better than others.

Besides Jerry Cantrell, if I could jam with anyone currently alive, it'd be MT.

Disciple A.D. is from Erie? Hmmmm, I didn't know that. Maybe they'll need a new bassist some day.

UPDATE: I didn't take the gig. Too R&B for my tastes.
