My good friend Lester Estelle used to drum for Pillar. Regardless of him being in the band I've always enjoyed all of their records they've put out.

If you're a fan of drums too, check this out. This is a drummer cam of sorts at a Pillar show a while back. 2 minutes in is Lesters solo. (I know, shameless plug for my buddy!)

I didn't read through all of the comments. But if you're into metal/hardcore pretty much anyone on Facedown, Strikefirst, or Blood and Ink Records are awesome. Tooth and Nail have some Christian artists as well. I still really enjoy As I Lay Dying, but I don't know what their stance is anymore. I really dig their new album though!

So I have an audition with a christian band on Saturday. The keyboardist/bandleader was texting me today, setting up a time etc. and he gave me this song that the band wants to play. So I youtube the song.....and I HATE it. That's when it hit me: I find christian bands boring.

I've commited to the audition, but if they play music like this I just won't join. So does anyone know any up-tempo, hard rocking christian bands? I'd like to go in and say "hey, you guys know any songs by (such and such)" and see what happens.

Marc Seal is a Christian instrumental guitarist. That sounds strange since there are no lyrics and it's Christian music. I dig him a lot, but I must admit that Christian instrumental bands confuse the crap out of me.
