I too have recently jumped into the 3d pool. Just got my printer last Thursday. I love the fact that I can print my own knobs as well. These were just playing around with the filament the send you for start up. Its white filament painted black. I’m still waiting on my 2 rolls to show up.

Here's the second half of DeadEnd FX Lovetone collection.

Mother Brain fuzz. Works well with bass and versatile.

TurboTrem tremolo. This was the easiest build of the whole group. Unfortunately, I don't use tremolo and a mono bass amp can't show off this pedal's real potential.

E.Nigma flanger. This was a challenging and expensive project. Daughterboard optical circuit needed extra experimentation and calibration. Had to substitute NSL5542 for NSL5540 and diffused green LED. They are wrapped in black foam and zip tied in the photo.

it sets how many positions "clicks" that the rotary has.

Thanks, I took a pedal apart and apparently put it together incorrectly, now one rotary is one click short and one isn’t stopping at all.

I think there is from experience, but I'd like to hear an explanation from someone who really understands the difference and can explain it.

What exactly do you mean by "tone knob"? A passive tone control in a bass, or ???

I have quite a bit of experience with building resonant LPFs and hardly any at all with tilt EQs, but the user experience is pretty radically different. And as a builder, one is dead simple and the other is very very difficult to get right as a utilitarian tone control. Looking forward to learning more about tilt EQs myself. I did some interesting pre-build modeling several years ago but got sucked down the LPF rabbit hole and haven't really come up for air just yet.

Tone controls are a rabbit-hole, there are so many different circuits and ways of approaching.
But broadly speaking, you can control a cut-off frequency (LPF), or control the amplitude of a fixed set of frequencies (bass/treble or tilt controls).

Big enough that the question is broad enough that people will struggle to answer it asked that way.
Are the circuits of a passive low pass filter, an active one, a tilt eq, a boost/cut centred on the bass frequencies or a shelving bass eq different - yes
Are they all normally combinations of resistors, capacitors, ICs and some other part, so kinda the same - yes
