Any DIY pedal builders on TB? Strut your stuff!

I finished these up last week: a PedalPCB HAARP apregiator and the Underminer Sub-Octave Synth.

Made these to play around on the synthesizer. If anyone is wondering they don't play well with bass at all!

And nevermind that missing shrinkwrap... I'll fix that one of these days.

Did you do the SMT work or order it pre installed?

I used a no-film decal. A buddy from another forum created the artwork, though.

I got the FV-1 at the same time as the board so had it installed already. I've not done any SMT soldering. I feel confident I could do it if needed, but I would prefer to learn on some transistors rather than going right for an FV-1, especially with how hard they can be to come by right now.

i had an EAE model fet and i think that i liked a slightly better than the CODA version, but the coda is no slouch. i designed my own version a few years ago using factory Sunn schematic and i actually like it better than both of them:

John, is that one of the OSH Park Andy Relay boards? Quite some time ago it came to my attention that they were no longer available and I'm wondering if they still are, now that I see you using one. Or do you just have a massive stock of them? :roflmao:
yep. they still make them. it's funny because i designed the etchable version, and later discovered that someone must've created an eagle file for it and had them made. the osh park ones do have two resistor value labeling errors though, but since i know what it is it was to make them usable.

i just did a search on oshpark and can no longer find them there but since i've ordered them a bunch of times, i just go to my cart and click "re-order"

just finished a madbean VFE mini-mu (a modified Mutron III). it was a pretty difficult build since it use 1/8W resistors and has very tightly spaced solder pads but it fired up and works perfect on the first try (YAY!). and BTW it sounds great.
here's a couple of pics of it:

I was about to make a Rothwell Love Squeeze a while back, but then I read quite a few stories about it distorting on bass. I came across this fix but never got around to build one:
Instead I built an Engineer's Thumb that I really love (replaced my Aguilar TLC, that again replaced an MXR M87), and I've also made a DOD280 for when I want an optical comp, and to experiment with home rolled LDRs. But please post some clips if you make a Rothwell Love Squeeze, or try the fixes in the link. It's an interesting circuit! :)

I've built it and it does this sputtering thing on the E and A open strings, higher frequencies don't really have that at normal volumes, I can also remedy it if I turn the bass output down to less than 20%. Comp setting has to go realll low to avoid this with the E string.
I'm going to have to fix this somehow :rollno:

Love squeeze pedal: EADG, E E E E, vol pot maxed on both J pickups, max comp, max vol on pedal

Yes, I remember :laugh: and I remember the labeling errors too, lol.

I fixed it, the changes are:
C4 1.5n > 68n
R1 1Meg > 500K
R10 10K > 20K trimmer set to 18K

Bringing the highpass down to 4Hz from 106Hz helped a ton.
It was having periodic artifacts every 4th wave. After the highpass edit, it went away but I was now getting some buckling on the peak every wave.
R10 to tweak the release time smooths that out.

I was also ready to increase C6 but it sounded good enough.

jut finished a modified Ampeg Scrambler (the 1969 version) using original NOS 2N5306 transistors with a relayed true bypass. the originals only had two knobs -balance and texture, but had a low output issue so the modification consists of a switch to run it either 100% stock, or have a clean boost with a volume control.

PCB Mania - Triple Wicked, Musikding kit.
This beast gives me TubeScreamer on steroids vibes with its aggressive distortion. I like the versatility of the EQ, mids contour and boost. Unfortunately, it's lacking in low end like a Screamer. Boxing this up was tricky. The toggle switch, jacks and footswitches were all a tight fit. Painted a single coat of silver glitter over high gloss black.
