Too loud solo, probably. With a band I bet it’s just fine.

The problem is that when you engage it, even with the band, the volume change is usually too much. Still working on it, though. But it was a revelation to realize that a muff sounds better cranked than it does at low volumes.

Yeah, picd pics pics. Lol. Ive tried hydrodipping a couple times. Its a little tricky. Are you doing it with spray paint?

Yeah, I'm using spray paint. But I'm mixing brands and types, which is probably part of my issue. It's also about 99% humidity right now so it's not drying as quickly as I want it to.

I'm using gloss purple, gloss black, glittery silver and glittery blue. The far right was the first and the paint didnt like the polypropylene containers, so I primed the rest.

You can see where the purple didnt adhere to the white primer on the left.

Used a dark gray primer. Better thickness control on the colors, but it still pulled up from the primer.

This was silver and blue. Then I let it dry and did just black. It's still wet, about 5 seconds out of the water. But I like the way this looks. I might just have to do several coats with a solid base coat.

So there you have it. It sucks
I need more paint and some more practice. I'll watch some more videos on youtube.

I like it. Your probably right about the base coat. I dont think it sucks. Looks like your making progress and learning something. All good stuff. Its been awhile since I have done any but I dont think mine looked as good as your latest results.

It's all dry now, the left one is cool except for the bubbles in the black. The right one was dipped a 2nd time in silver only (purple/black 1st dip) and it made a spotty design. Pretty cool, IMO. I'll try again today with warm water

Made a speaker housing. Am going to have a ruby amp driving it.
Thinking of making that into an amplug format.

Anyone DIY'ed an amplug before? I hate the way they stick out, will probably try to shape it to hug the bass contour closely.

that one is a waterslide decal, set with microsol, then 3 coats of matte acrylic.

Just a little stutter pedal...I've made other kits, with various degrees of success and failure. That one was created out of necessity for our guitarist. I do plan on updating and adding a few more options to it though.

i bought the enclosure with it and it came predrilled with the slots. i just had to smooth the rather rough finish on it, polish it and etch it.

Haven't built anything for a couple months but excited to get the soldering iron warmed up. Ordered some PCBs and now I need to figure out what I need, always a good time...

Ready for some late nights putting these together!

The Good:
The -1 octave sounds good soloed.
Fuzz is also good enough to use alone.
There are more good sounds to find mixing fuzz and -1 octave with the LPF switches in different positions.
The Bad:
I couldn't find any useable settings with -2 octaves. This was expected on bass.
The -1 octave has short sustain before glitching out.
The dry blend doesn't have enough gain to match fuzz and octave volume levels.
The Ugly:
This was a complex build. Soldering toggle switches directly onto a single sided pcb is awkward. Soldering in the dual gang pot was awful.
