Any mountain bikers??

Heres my BMX'ish bike. Its a 26" Inspired Hex

So- mind you, I'm an old BMXer/dirt-jumper myself; also had a Monty for awhile, so PLEASE don't take this the wrong way- but what exactly do you do w/that?

You can basically do "street" influenced trials...it's very niche specific. Most inspired riders mix street bmx stunts while hucking off walls and other obstacles like trials riders do.

Check this out!

Also, if you want to be amazed, check out Danny Macaskill videos. That guy is an animal.

Yeah Bassingeorge pretty much nailed it. I dont ride bike parks much though. I hit loading docks, benches water fountains, big steps...etc. Anything that looks like it would hurt to fall from is fun. Also this type of riding is all about art, expression and flow. Which goes well with music believe it or not.

Check these out...great music too.

My dream bike's rear shock loses air quickly- like before the end of a short ride. :( I'm not seeing ANY replacements(first-gen Scalpel- 5.5" Fox Float L); I'll contact Fox later(working this morning), but can anyone reccommend a good shock rebuilder/tuner? I don't mind forking out but I want to be sure I don't need to do it twice. :)

Nobody? I also woke my MTBR acct up to seek the same info- I hadn't been on in over two years.
Alrighty then, how about brakes? I'm going through some BS w/my rear stopper(Hayes Comp hydraulic); anyone upgrade to hydros & wanna unload a set of mecanicals? I could get by w/just a caliper but would prefer levers too, F & R(minus rotors). I can pay cash or trade bike or bass stuff.

The only one I know of is PUSH Industries.

In addition to rebuilding it, they'll set it up for your riding style and weight.

PUSH are definitely the kings of this. I've had 2 rear shocks rebuilt and tuned by them with great success. Excellent CS too. That's a pretty oddball and old shock so they may or may not be able to rebuild it. I doubt anyone makes a shock with that stroke and eye-eye length any more so if you can find one in good working order on ebay or whatever, you might want to snag it.

Cool bike, BTW!

I think I'm going to make the switch to tubeless this year and I also think I'm going to build up an On-One 456 hardtail (steel, slack geo, cheap).

Theres Hippie tech, and push....but fox does a really good job as well, and it will probably be the cheaper option...although push does fit custom shims and such into the rebuilt shock for extra durability and performance. I've heard very good things about push ind., although they are quite pricey IMO.

Excellent, guys- thank you all. I got a reply from PUSH; will read in a few. I lean toward Fox as they built the unit, plus I dig *cheap(er)* :D

Well, Fox might build the shocks but PUSH definitely improved the two they rebuilt and tuned for me. :D My 36 and RP23 from the Tracer are going out there after the upcoming season.

I'd say you'll be doing ok if you can get it rebuilt at all. Fingers crossed for you that someone can do it.
