Any mountain bikers??

So PUSH can do my shock, but at my LBS' suggestion, I will try to replace the air seal(s)myself; a $10 gamble. On that note, I got the upper end of the shock off the bike, but the lower half requires a special tool- as old as the bike is I;m guessing it may be difficult to find..

Replacing the seals is a fairly easy job and cheap so it's certainly worth a try. Don't know why that didn't occur to me before. What sort of tool is it? I'd say your best bet might be to call Cannondale if it's something outlandish.

Woohoo! Just put down some serious GAS I had for a while, but had the itch to buy something....so I bought a Bike! :D

haha I needed this frame...I can't make it with just an Intense Tracer..I need a XC bike.
So I bought a On-One Whippet carbon frame...plan to put some 650b wheels on it.

Heres the link to the frame, I can't wait to get it built!

Man- the plethora of wheel size options these days is just bewildering. Can that frame accept more than the 650B's? The On-one stuff isn't super-pricey as I *recall/imagine*- I'd love a good carbon HT...

The prices are great! The price of the frame from UK complete with the shipping cost was less than $500!

You can get that with other brands...unless you go the chinese carbon ebay frames way.

650b has been forever AFAIK, but not as a performance mountain bike option...until now. I'm just too short to fit on a 29er. And I don't like the idea of riding in-between the wheels.

All in all I'm pretty excited! :hyper:

On-one frames are super cheap. Apparently the finish work shows that, but what the hell. I'm going to buy a steel 456 and build it up this year. Hard to go wrong for <$300 to the door.

Looped this yesterday, The Brecon Gap, nice run.

Is this anywhere near Pontypandy Mountain? :D Sorry, my 2-year-old is obsessed with Fireman Sam.

Fireman Sam is a bit after my time, I was more an Ivor The Engine fan. If Ponypandy mountain exists it would be around 30 miles south from there :)

I'm pretty sure Pontypandy is an imaginary place. :D
I actually had to order him some Fireman Sam toys from the UK as no one stocks them on this side of the pond. I suppose it's not much odds as we're closer to the UK than we are to Chicago.

Nice to have had the time and weather to do that run, v.dry here at the mo' and good temps for riding, bonus.

It's been dry and warm (for March anyway) here with low snow pack so I was hoping for an early start to dirt riding. However there's 30+ cm of snow in the forecast overnight so I guess I'll have to keep the Ice Spikers on for another while. Oh well, at least snow/ice riding is a hoot!

EXCITED: Tax return will allow new bikes for all 3 kids- oldest & middle child(13/10)get Specialized Hard Rock Discs, as they both now fit 13" frames; youngest(6)wants a *pink one w/a basket for stuffed animals* Can do, sweetie! :hyper:

My bikes are all quite close to up & running as well. Come on, spring!

shipping to me today............cannot way to add some bits to it and ride!!

Well, the shock is still dragging it's feet- I can't get the lower eyelet away from the link/bellcrank- I have a few gurus helping in that dept, though. Thinking happy thoughts... . more positively, I will mail the fork off to Mendon Cycles for a rebuild. Gonna temporarily swap brakes from Gemini(fully functional Hayes)to Scalpel(squishy rear- gotta hate that :D)and I'll be UP. :eek:/:cool:
