They are very expensive. Yet, Jens always manages to sell every piece at each NAMM show. I admire his instruments as well, but I don't think I would be able to afford one.

Any NAMM bass rumors yet?

I went to the site and figured it was out of my league when I saw you have to send an e-mail to get the price. Usually that's not a good sign.
I requested a price sometime around 2011-2012 on a Jupiter 6-string, which is my favorite but it's one of his more extravagant designs. It was more than 7000Euros at that time. I'm sure the price has gone up since then.
At least you earn Euros. Canadian dollar is only .69 per Euro. Even at the 2011/2012 price, that would exceed $10K for me, which I sadly do not have.
I earn Euros, but I am portuguese.

You didn't hear it from me but, there could be a new Fender Rumble Club 400 bass modeling combo amp with the same software as the Studio 40 & Stage 800, and a 1x15" 8 ohm speaker running at 250W continuous, 500W program. You can add an 8 ohm cab to get the full 400W continuous, 800 program. It may also be offered as a head!
Also, a Fender 2x12 cab, about which, less is known. It could be a Rumble or a Bassman, or both. Maybe 8 ohm or 4 ohm, or both. Ratings aren't certain but, are expected to meet, or beat, 500W continuous, 1000W program!
And, finally, to replace the seemingly now-discontinued retro looking Bassman 500 amp, a more modern looking compact Bassman 500 hybrid amp head with the same spec.s but, much less size and even less weight!

I've never been to NAMM. My take on it is that it is oriented towards MI retailer purchasing departments. Not towards the end user. As such I would think it is fair for manufacturers to bring any number of one off / experimental / prototype products to gauge interest and reaction. If a product shows promise in the hands those willing to purchase in quantity it MAY go into full production. If it bombs at NAMM, a bullet is dodged by the manufacturer by avoiding the costs of production on a failed product. IMO seeing a product at NAMM is no promise of anything.
What is interesting to think about is how a company determines something bombs or is a hit at the show. If it's a prototype, then how are the end users supposed to give any feedback? Take Ibanez for example, there is nothing that I looked at in their booth that didn't hit the market within the last calendar year. It also hit quickly, like within a month or two for the Mezzo basses. However, you are very right that seeing something at NAMM is no guarantee. I also recall seeing a TON of foreign manufacturers who I am positive were seeking a US distribution deal. That stuff probably falls fully on the idea that they don't make it unless someone wants to carry it here.
Just to reinforce something that was pointed out earlier....NAMM is not a retail show, never was. Although an individual may end up buying something from the floor as per rules it has to be OUTSIDE of the NAMM convention property. No transactions are made on the floor, orders can be. This is because the NAMMl show is a display and demo of manufacture's newest or older products that are available for order on the floor. "Buyers" are retailers, wholesalers, other manufacturers. This is also why the public is not allowed in without a badge.

Ehhhhh, I think that's loosely enforced, if at all. Cash is king. How are you going to stop anyone from selling in a place that huge? I've been offered some DEEP discounts from many, many retailers for an on the spot take it home sale. Even when I asked if they had anything they could sell, the answer was never, "NAMM doesn't allow that." They may not have been set up to do a sale, but they never quoted the rules. People are bringing equipment in and out of there at all hours of the day and there is no possible way to know if it had been purchased there. They only check what comes in for security purposes, not what goes out.

There are too many companies that use trade show crowds as focus groups to help them decide whether to brig a product to market — or not.
Yep. They may ask you to wait until Sunday so they can keep it displayed during the show but many folks will sell instruments there. Better to make a sale on a display than to haul the thing home after the show.
