any smokers switch to Vaping yet?

Sounds like a bad wick, or not fully charged battery. If the unit is upside down for any length of time, or over filled (flooded), juice will leak a bit. I hate when that happens.

I just googled Inferno by Volcano, and there's lots of info, reviews and YT vids.

When you guys vape, or at least when you first started, was there a bit of harshness to it for you? I was thinking vaping would be smooth. I can taste a decent flavor, but along with that is this weird harsh feeling on my lungs. I don't mean the kind that's a 'strong cigarette' feeling, I mean more like the kind of the top of your lungs being tickled or itched that makes you want to cough.

Maybe I just need some really good liquid that's round and smooth. Can't spend too much trying to find it though.

Vaping is a bit harsh on the throat for the first couple days. After that, your throat gets used to it and the harshness goes away. I drip at the house, and use cartos or clearomizers when I'm away from the house. As far as clearomizers go, I've tried the vision mini-nova and the kanger. But the vision nano beats them all. What I'm stuck on now. Using AVE juice, Boba's bounty and flue cured tobacco.

I get that when I use a carto too long. When I'm using the tank or clearo, I don't get that "tickle."
Another thing, drink lots of water, especially at the beginning. The vapour you give off is partly your own moisture from inside your mouth, and vaping can dry you out, if you over do it without replacing the liquids.

Look into vegetable glycol juice intead of PG juice which is what allot of the stuff out there is. I cant do PG but VG I have no problems.Google and read up on it.

the first thing you need to do is stop hitting it like a cigarette. don't direct lung inhale ... think fine cigar or hookah - mouth inhale, practise pulling your tongue back as you open your jaw to make the inside of your mouth bigger... you can exhale through your nose while doing this too (watch a pbusardo video - he does it every time) ...

it is a strange concept for most cigarette smokers that haven't had experience with cigars or hookah. once you get that down, things will mellow right out.
the one thing i learned from my genesis atomizers is that slow & steady gives tons more dense, "wet" vapor than hot and fast.

I'll be joining the VV/VW club as soon as my Smok Tech SID arrives! :hyper:

I love the simplicity of my Bolt but the first hit is always awesome then gradually decreases in quality until a sharp drop off right before the battery dies. I'm hoping the SID will bring a bit of consistency to my vaping.

I recently (2 months ago ) began using a vv. It's great. Too much TH, and you can dial back, not enough, dial 'er up. I usually run between 3.7 - 4.4 volts, depending on juice. In case you have to stretch your juice out, you can down volt and make the juice last a bit longer, although your TH and vape is less.

My VV/VW SID arrived today! :hyper:

...but all four of my batteries are too big. Stupid lack of battery size consistency. :atoz:

apparently IMR batteries won't fit in it, you have to use ICR ... IMR's tend to be just a little thicker than ICR.

on a related bonus note - discount vapers has them marked down to $48 while they last, and he won't be reordering them. 13 left currently.

personally i am not comfortable running a boost circuit off of an ICR cell. i will run them in my 18650 egos ... they actually work better than IMRs in there, but the PWM is tuned to ICR batteries. my VV and VW devices (and the wife's bolt) get IMRs.

Does ICR equal non protected. Two of my batteries are labeled as BRC and the other pair have no type label. They're all protected.

I got mine for $45 from Madvapes...just before their 10% coupon. :eyebrow:

icr and imr are different battery chemistries.

icr = not as safe (hence the protection circuit some add), higher capacity, lower drain rates

imr = safer chemistry, higher drain rates, lower overall capacity.

my IMRs are genuine AWs or EFESTs ... all of my ICRs are non-protected sanyos or LGs that i got out of laptop batteries with failed protection circuits.
and before anyone lectures me, i trickle and discharge tested them before using them in mods.

the SID has protection built into the circuit, so using "protected" icr batteries is redundant, and i would not worry about it unless you are using a genny with a super low Ω coil ... anything above 1.4Ω should be OK, unless you are trying to pump more than 15w through it.

high drain IMRs (not the hybrid ones with added protection) are my choice for mods that boost ... they can handle the discharge rate without danger of heating up. but, i tend to vape my rebuildables between 10w and 13w ... my carto tanks tend to be comfortable at 8-9w.

a 2000mah EFEST imr lasts as long in my VAMO as a 2600mah Sanyo unprotected icr. i am always boosting in the vamo, except for that small window when the battery is fresh off the charger, and i have a 2.2Ω carto in my tank, and it is set at 8w. after the first few tokes, i'm boosting.

i have noticed that anything below 2Ω on the vamo with a single 18350 will heat the whole thing up if i go over 9w. battery gets warm, control head gets warm ... but the 18350 drain rate is much lower than the 18650 drain rate.

if you are really worried about protection, make sure you have a real hotspring in your mod, and shell out the $10 for a holocron labs ShortStop or a resettable 2c fuse.

I heard back from Madvapes.com. They say the SID takes IMR batteries.

That begs the question "what kind of batteries do I have?" Two are junk Ultrafire 3000mah (labeled BRC) and two are Efest 3100mah (no type label...regular Li?).

I fell off for a while. But I get paid soon. Going to get back in it. Going to get a mod do some research on attys, cartos, and tanks, if the tech has changed in the past year.

Probably go with variable voltage, any experience on the Lava 2? Seems like some good bang for the buck on those.

those are most likely protected ICR. 18650 IMR batteries are between 1600-2100mah. They should be labeled Li-Mn, not Li-on, because they are a lithium-manganese whatever.

the vendor always wants you to buy the IMR's, they cost more. in the case of the SID, it is justified however.

Just got my first vape yesterday and so far I'm loving it! Started off with a bottle of Peanut Butter Cup and a menthol flavor.
Got an eGo C Twist... 900ma with VV from 3.2-4.8; the ability to adjust it is nice and it was suprisingly inexpensive.
Just using a clearomizer right now and me gusta... but any real advantages to normal atos/cartos?
