any smokers switch to Vaping yet?

It is regulated in the USA as if it was cigarettes... but lots of people use it 'stealthily' in places lighting up would get them in big trouble.

my wife has never smoked in her life... lost both Grandfathers to cancer of the esophagus. She was after me to quit our entire relationship.

She vapes 0mg stuff from www.vapor4life.com she uses the shortest batteries and mostly fruit / sweet flavors. She has been using it as a substitute for snacking. She never takes it out of the house... she mainly uses it during long days at the computer.

I've seen those e-cigs but I'm not going to buy into them. I'm to the point where I only smoke when I'm drinking. At most that's 3 nights a week. I'll go through a pack about a pack every week and a half. I love smoking when I drink. I love the ritual. I love the conversations. Most of the people I call my friends I've met through smoking. I can live with that.

Ok just got one of these bad boys for xmas and it's really cool. I think I can easily substitute this for real cigs. Question is? Will different brands of cartridges fit, and work with my battery? My unit has no brand name or anything and it came with pre filled cartridges.

About a month ago I bought a Riva 900mAh Electronic Cigarette Starter kit from VaporFlow. It came with 2 complete units and a bunch of flavorless cartridges of various strengths. I sort of alternated smoking regular ciggies and vaping for a while until I got some flavored juice from Backwoods Brew (24mg strength), and as of last Friday I haven't had or wanted a regular cigarette. I was smoking between 4 and 5 packs a week and decided to switch to vaping for the following reasons:

1. Price of regular cigarettes ($8+ a pack where I live)
2. The smell (clothes, car, breath, fingers, toes - okay not really toes)
3. Convenience (having to go outside in the snow/sleet/rain for a smoke, since I don't like smoking inside at all; now I can just have a few puffs off my e-cig now and then and I'm good to go)
4. Regular ciggies started to make me feel somewhat fatigued, and I didn't like it

I plan on using up the 24mg stuff and then moving down to lower nicotine levels.

Switching has been the best decision I've made in a long time.

My thoughts exactly!

I was with family last night and my cousin saw my e-cig for the first time and was intrigued. She's in her first year of grad school and not been at the same family things as I've been 2 since I switched. She ended up sharing mine all night instead of smoking her Marlboro Lights (I vape 16mg Cinnabun from www.bluemistvaping.com) and wants me to pick her out a set to order.

Well the Spirit of Christmas commerce got the better of me :)

I ordered a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] in orange that will not get made until the first couple weeks of January... and the next morning I got a note from one of my regular suppliers that his mod that uses the batteries I have was in stock :) I ordered it too!

I've been using it since I ripped open the package :D

It's real solid and shiny... feels good in the hand. It vapes as good as my MVS, same connector, same battery, same carto I'm use to. The switch doesn't appear to be 'pocket safe' like the MVS and the GLV-2 Mini... but I feel all side button mods are plagued with that issue.

I'm glad I bought it, it'll stay in my collection in the desk stand I'm making out of a 4x4x2 block of maple burl... but from the beginning it will be an alternate, home use mod.

a 510 is a connector... both my mods are based on 510 connections as are my cartos.

Now if you mean 'how does it compare to the cigarette sized tube battery?' well then I have to say it's like moving from an SX jazz and Peavey combo to a Sadowsky and Aguilar DB751 stack :bassist: Sure they both do the same thing... but holy crap does the Sad+Aggie sound good.

The difference is the milliampere-hour rating of the battery. I'm using 3.7v 880mAh Lithium-ion batteries (model 16340) that give me the same 'vape' all day that the cigarette tube batteries give for just the first puff or 3. Also due to the high mAh rating I can run 'low resistance' cartos... current batch are rated at 2.4ohm instead of the typical 3.0 to 3.4 of the pre filled ones. This combo give bigger output... some what similar to a 5v set up.

my cartos hold 2ml of fluid... I average just over 1ml a day.
my batteries have gone 2.5 days, but I usually swap them out about every 1.5 days because after that they drop in voltage enough for me to notice.

If you want HUGE... the guy I get my cartos from is releasing a 5ml tank mod for them.

I might give it a try, as I've been intrigued by e-cigs since I first saw them advertised, but it'll probably just end up as another unused, unjustified purchase where I'm too lazy to re-order any more fluid/cartridges/whatever. Plus it's another thing to put batteries into.
At least you lose the "you got a light," or the dreaded but oft used "can I bum a smoke?" and it becomes more of a conversation piece unto itself.
Plus, you can smoke 'em inside with minimal repercussions (at least, that's what I heard...).
