Bought myself a pair of "Custom Boutique" mods for xmas (ordered them 3 days before xmas actually)... just got them yesterday :bassist:

Seems GAS is universal!

James, I know what you're saying about GAS being universal. ECF and pure smoker have kept me out of the TB classified, but haven't kept me from spending money. I jumped from KR808Ds to pure smoker prodigy V3 6V and couldn't be happier.

For anyone else looking to get into this, or even just to learn more about it, the electronic cigarette form is huge source of information and is fairly well organized and moderated. I'd post a like, but I'm sending this from the talkbass app.

Hey Dave, Yeah, I've bought and sold a bit in the forums over there... it's linked in the beginning of this thread I think.

Here is the site http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com

I'm okay again for hardware... now I've got e-juice GAS. I'm currently looking to see if there is better Cinnamon than I currently vape. I got my first challenger yesterday from gotvapes and it tastes like nothing... smells awesome, but has no taste. I've got 2 other challengers on the way.

:eyebrow: How much nicotine and godknowswhatelse do you breathe out? No way do I want to share a bar with a bunch of VapeHeads. ( No smoking in bars in NZ )

You exhale water vapor, and that is all. It might retain a hint of the original scent, but that and the vapor dissipate within seconds. No lingering around.

James, I haven't tried any cinnamon flavors. Not my thing. However, so far, the best flavors I've had are also the cheapest, from vikingvapor.com. They sell 30ml bottles for $9.99(!) There's another site where the guy sells completely organic juices that reviewed very nicely, but I can't remember the name off of the top of my head.

And on a lighter note.....

The D.A. (domestic associate) aka "the old lady" ;), bought me a starter kit about a month ago. While waiting for it to arrive I caught this thread and started researching vaping. I've smoked a pack a day for almost 40 years. Tried almost every way of quitting. Most recent attempt was a laser treatment that cost me 480 bucks. FINALLY came to the conclusion I don't want to quit. Funny thing happened though. I had two smokes the day after I started vaping and haven't wanted another since. It's amazing. The D.A. is astounded. She didn't think I'd be able to give up smokes. I feel better, smell better, and I'm saving money. I actually prefer vaping to smoking. So thanks James for starting this thread and providing the links and info to help some of us get off the cigs.

for those of you with e-cig starters or that think e-cigs cannot replace the 'ritual' of smoking....

also as for the juice vender I mentioned ordering from... not ordering from them again! They cut the organic VG with grain alcohol to thin it a bit (it can get thick). Within 4 hours, it ate through an acrylic tank tube!

I've been thinking about buying one of these the next time I get paid (next saturday) and I was gonna buy one of the cheaper ones at 7-11 just to see how I like it and then buy a more expensive one if I do like it. I don't want to drop 100 bucks on a starter kit if I'm not going to use it, so that's why I'd go with the 20 dollar one. I'm a moderate smoker at about a pack a day and it's killing my wallet. So I guess we'll see how it goes.

For the scientist's here on talkbass, is it the nicotene or the tobacco that is a hunger suppressant? Has anyone gained any weight when quitting smoking and going straight to vaping? Can you breath better when you start vaping? Just a few questions from a curious person.

My wife had gotten some e-cigarette kits from a smoke shop down the street but they didn't really hold up well, then I noticed a girl at work who had a better kit and never smoked again. I got her an Infinity kit for an anniversary gift (real romantic huh?) and she hasn't had a cigarette since. No cravings, no weight gain, and says it's way better than actual smoking ever was. Say's it's the best gift I've ever gotten her. She was a 1-2 pack a day smoker for the past 15 years, this has made it incredibly easy to quit.
By the way, Vaporbomb and Tasty Vapes seem to be really good companies to deal with for juices. Great communication and really fast shipping.

James, Thanks for this thread! My situation sounds exactly like you described. Been smoking from a very young age, and next month I'm turning 40! I made a promise to myself to be smoke free by my birthday. I think this will be a great help!

Last night I ordered a Joye 510 kit. There is so much information on E-cigs, that it's completely overwhelming. This kit seemed to be the best place to start. After more research, I'm a bit worried about the battery life, and the difference between PG and VG. But I guess it's going to be a lot of trial and error.

I'm anxious to give this a shot, and hopefully rid myself of these damn cigarettes! Thanks again for the information, and the good advice!

Glad to help... yeah e-cigs can be overwhelming.

That kit should get you started fine. If you are looking to quit quit... just start with a high nic level and slowly move to lower levels.

I'm not looking to stop, I like nicotine like I like caffeine. I've reduced myself down to the 11mg level and happy here (started at 24mg).

I've posted most my gear here already, but here it goes again :)

Here are my Mini GLV-2 mods... one with a Mini MAP Tank and the other a regular MAP Tank.
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The tanks are a mod of the Royal Smoker CE2 carto made by a guy that goes by the screen name of Most Angry Pirate. The short one holds 2.5ml and the bigger one holds 5ml. I vape about 1.5 to 2ml a day... and my batteries last about the same. I tried a bunch of other juice recently and settled back on my Cinnabun from Bluemist.

I am still looking for something different so I picked up a couple of Cisco LR306 attys for testing flavors... These are for direct dripping (dropping 2 or 3 drops directly on the atty = about one cig worth of puffing)... which is a pain to travel with but easy to switch up flavors.

I got rid of my generic e-cig and got the Joye eGo starter kit with a couple of flavors. It's great! I am a heavy smoker and this thing rocks. It's like the P-bass of the e-cig world. I recommend it to anyone looking to get into vaping. It's not too expensive, puts off tons of vapor, and the battery lasts for a very long time. Get one you wont be sorry.

My sense of smell has come back, I can breath, It's less expensive, My clothes don't smell of smoke and on and on..........I now prefer it to smoking. Cigarettes now taste like dirt.

James, where did you get those tanks. I got one of those 3.7 box mods from madvapes and I like it a lot much, much better than the PCC 510 kit; however, I'd love one of those tanks. Do they work with 510 hardware?

MAP sells them through COV exclusively. Here is the page MAP Tank Mods

[edit] keep in mind it is the Philly Vape Fest this weekend and Bruce of COV is here in NJ. He was to have like 500+ tanks for sale at the GTG and what's left will be on the site when he gets settled at home.[/edit]

My mods are based on 510 threads... and the guts of the tanks are regular CE2 cartos. Should be fine.
