any smokers switch to Vaping yet?

Glad to help... yeah e-cigs can be overwhelming.

That kit should get you started fine. If you are looking to quit quit... just start with a high nic level and slowly move to lower levels.

I'm not looking to stop, I like nicotine like I like caffeine. I've reduced myself down to the 11mg level and happy here (started at 24mg).

I've posted most my gear here already, but here it goes again :)

Here are my Mini GLV-2 mods... one with a Mini MAP Tank and the other a regular MAP Tank.
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The tanks are a mod of the Royal Smoker CE2 carto made by a guy that goes by the screen name of Most Angry Pirate. The short one holds 2.5ml and the bigger one holds 5ml. I vape about 1.5 to 2ml a day... and my batteries last about the same. I tried a bunch of other juice recently and settled back on my Cinnabun from Bluemist.

I am still looking for something different so I picked up a couple of Cisco LR306 attys for testing flavors... These are for direct dripping (dropping 2 or 3 drops directly on the atty = about one cig worth of puffing)... which is a pain to travel with but easy to switch up flavors.

Thanks, James

I need to get started on this, now.
Do you have a parts list of your current setup? I'm looking at the 510 PCC kit and the 510 EGO XL.
I want to get started with something that has high capacity that will last me a long time.

Great thread!

I'd skip the 510 PCC, I tried it, it was OK (not powerful enough for me), but today I use, and am much happier with a 3.7 volt box mod from madvapes; though, I will probably end up with something like James has.

You are welcome... I'm glad to pass on the info :bassist:

First off, like any gear, not all things work well for all people.

My current Vaping Gear:

My PV are made by Great Lakes Vapor and are the 'mini' size seen [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
They are loaded with 16340 batteries (one at a time) and last me almost 2 days, but I generally change them out every morning. Right now I'm using [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] but will be switching to some [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. Even though they are lower mah, they are 'high drain'... so they give more with each push of the button, but give less button pushes per charge.

The tanks I use are made to fit over cut down stainless CE2 cartos

Like I mentioned in my hunt for the perfect juice, I've picked up a couple [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (THE go to atty for people who direct drip)

I own a few random drip tips (I use on everything since they feel better to me than the straight cartos)... but usually reach for my CherryVapes Pawn tips

All my stuff share the 510 thread size and with Cisco's 306 to 510 drip tip adapter, all take 510 drip tips as well.

So now juice: My 'go to' has long been [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. I love it, but I'm hunting for a more 'fireball' type cinnamon flavor. I've tried a few and have been enjoying a couple Link Removed.

And the most important part, I have a couple wicked cool stands of Maple Burl and Ash made by Vape Stand... because you need to put the thing down somewhere ...oh wait, that's me :ninja: I made myself a stand for my desk and some of the other vaping people went crazy for them. I bought a domain and started making them in limited quantities for sale.

Madvapes makes some great stuff... it was an upgrade to replace my Vapestacks (made and sold by Madvapes) for the mini GLV-2 but it was like trading in Acura for a BMW

As far as the 'kit' thing goes... the 900mah and higher ones are pretty happening. The regular 510 or KR808/Vapor King ones are definitely starters. Like Bass gear, a bad starter can put someone off using it. It's better to spend a little more going in IMHO/E

Well, I got my 510 kit on Wednesday, and have been playing around with it quite a bit. As of today, April 1st, I am making the switch from cigs to vaping!

I'm impressed with it, really. I'm going to have to experiment with some of the tricks and tips that I've read on the e-cig forum. I'd like to get a little more vapor than what it's producing.

I also want to get some different juices. I just got the tobacco flavored stuff with my initial order, and also a bottle of cherry flavor. The cherry just seems too weak. I might try a cinnamon, or something like that to give me more of a "kick".

Thanks for all of the good links in this thread, and wish me luck!

GOOD LUCK!!!

definitely check out Link Removed for juice to try. The owners are some cool people and I think their "Red Hot" is becoming my favorite... I plan on giving most my future juice business to them.

From what I've read, Cherry is a tough flavor to get right... too easy to taste like cough meds.

Thanks! I'll give 'em a shot. "Red Hot" sounds right up my alley!

Wow... it's been a little while since I checked the thread. A friend of mine and I have been building 5V regulated box mods for people who want to try out vaping without a ridiculous star up cost. If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm.

James, I finally found my ultimate juice supplier. Primevaping.com. I have almost 120ml of their strawberry. It is hands down the best I've ever had. They have a few that I haven't been in love with and one that I hated, but out of the 16 flavors I've tried, most of them are amazing. Cinnamon blueberry crumble and Boston cream pie are downright dangerous.

These are what we've done so far. The blue one was a request from one of my friends who wanted a color changing led. I'm probably going to redo all of my pedals with these now :-)

yeah it's 510 threads... I only use a 510 to 510 adapter as a spacer so the tanks clear the button.

Be prepared for a wait on the GLV stuff... they are built as ordered and besides the normal 2 to 3 week lead time, Sara & Jay just had a baby a couple weeks back.

Well, I'm two days in, and I haven't broken down and bought a pack of smokes. Although, I do find myself vaping like crazy! Hopefully this will subside!

I just ordered some Gorilla Juice, and Boba's Bounty from Alien Visions, which are both VG. I'm interested to see if the vapor production is better than the PG. I also oredered some Ciina-Bomb and Fire and Ice from VaporBomb. These are both a 50/50 mix. Lots of experimentation here!

I was going to order the Red Hot from Bombay, but their site said they are running low on Cinnamon, so they have put those flavors on hold. I'll check back with them later I guess...

Been a couple years since I messed with any of this....how much has changed?

I had a trog screwdriver that I liked, but drew too much attention (and the buttons are junk). The biggest drawback on all of these has been the atomizers. I'd kill 1-2 910 attys a week....direct dripping. Has the technology gotten any better? Between crap batteries and atomizers, I pretty much gave it up. I tried the iolite which does away with both of these, but it's a bit of a chore to keep running right in its own ways. Enough of one to stop hassling with it.

I still have all my stuff, but would like to hear if things have been improved any.
