Anybody else not using amps?

So yeah basically the majority of all the gigs I do I am going direct and using IEMs and our guitarist use eleven racks (im using my zoom b3, on a svt amp) sound guys love it and we have killer tone, okay my tone could be better but I have played gigs with amps and sounded way worse, any recommendations for zoom b3? the di sucks on it so Im running into a separate DI. anyways anyone else not using amps these days?

I have a Zoom B2 that I find OK. Doesn't do anything great but it does a few things well enough. If all you use it for is Ampeg simulation, though, I can think of a couple better sounding boxes where you wouldn't have to bring a separate DI. Tech 21 VT Bass DI or VT Deluxe if you're on a lower budget, A-Designs REDDI if you've got a good budget. That said, the Zoom is certainly doable. I just am not a big fan of low end digital. I find it a bit fatiguing to listen to, like listening to lower bitrate MP3's. But if it's working for you, don't let me stop you from using it. Plenty of folks do and their bands do just fine.

One of my churches just went to an in far setup and just a sansamp is awesome. Not a huge fan of the "tubey" drive but to compensate for the digitalness I'm running a tube od/eq through my tube driven optocompressor and my tone squashes the guest bassists who bring 1000$+ amps

The REDDI is top dog as far as DI's go.

However if you need EQ capability to then the Basswitch is the way to go.

I do some rehearsals like this and use the Basswitch mounted to my board with all my pedals and it sounds insanely good.

I have and IMHO there is no comparison...

Fair Warning...The Basswitch is like a clean studio pre SO if you want a little nasty ness you need to supply it elsewhere or look for something else. I sometimes use just a touch of overdrive (not much at all...Just enough to know something is going on) and with that I use the Darkglass B3K for that...Which comes out awes some with either the Basswitch or REDDI.

On that note if your have a tighter budget and want some nasty then B7K is probably your guy.

I play at church and we use FOH/IEM's with no stage amps. I have a Nano with a Boss TU-2, Radial JDI and a Rolls PM box for my IEM's. Works great, is VERY compact, and wounds nice. The JDI isn't a REDDI or Basswitch but it isn't bad.

This is true
and it has the "Jensen sound" which is warm-ish. I love the JDI and it was my go-to for headphone rehearsals.

However
If I was gigging ampless (different rooms and such) I would want some preamp capability over not.
