Only time I did anything like this was once I turned one of my 2 cabs towards the drummer when he couldn't hear me on a gig with just stage sound and vocal monitors.

Anybody ever do this and if not, why not?

I just ordered a GKMB210 and plan on adding an 115MBE in the near future. Got me thinkin...
If I get a long speaker cable I can put the 15 on one side of the stage and the 210 on the other, instead of stacking them. I'm no newbie here, but never gigged my own seperate bottoms, (NV 610 or combos has been it for me) and never really gave this any thought.
Why don't people do this at smaller bar gigs where they're not going through the PA? Me thinks it would fill out the band and sound awesome. Me thinks too that since nobody does it there must be a good reason, except for maybe that nobody ever tries because it doesn's ever seem to be done. ??????? Hmmm... Joe Nerve wonders, and will probably experiment unless you convince me otherwise. Yeah, I realize it'll probably upset the guitar guys a bit, but who cares.

The GK setup was beyond horrible. Used it for one rehearsal and immediately returned it. I toyed with it as much as I could and then wound up plugging into a 1x15 combo that was in the studio (was an uncommon amp brand, I think Yamaha)? The GK sounded worse than cardboard and couldn't compete with a pounding drummer. Eh...
Not a GK fan anymore, though I've been playing through a Neo 212 for all my shows. My band has a truck and roadies so I'm happy to leave it with them. My rig is pretty much just a monitor and front of stage thing these days, so I don't care. I love my Carvins much much more though.
Maybe this is where mixed drivers actually work? I used to put my Son of Bertha 15" on one side of the stage and my Goliath III 4X10" on the other side for a weekly indoor big band gig. (No PA support for rhythm section, just for horns) The whole band loved my sound on stage, and it sounded pretty full and great out in the venue when I let someone else sit in on my bass.
