Anyone else buy a bass with their stimulus?

Congratulations on your purchase!

American Musical Supply got most of my stimulus (early payoff) and I found $1000 used Tama drum kit for $350.
Nice!
I also got a used Tama kit for around 3, then spent 6 on cymbals.... ‘cause life’s too short for crappy cymbals.
Now I’m spending another couple on some new heads.
Maybe someday I’ll actually learn to play them. Lol

The $1,400 stimulus will perhaps cover the income taxes that I owe on my Federal supplemental unemployment from last year (the "extra $600 per week" thing). There was no option to have them tax that money up front, so anyone who got it is on the hook for about $100 per week that they received the extra $600.

Uncle Sam is gonna get a fat-ass pay day from all of us this year and next. Half the nation has been placed into serious tax debt by "qualifying" for this money. People who are used to getting money back every year are going to end up anywhere from getting nothing to owing thousands.

As opposed to giving us another check, they should have forgiven unemployment taxes during the pandemic. But they'd rather dole out a [relatively] little bit of cold, hard cash now, and put half the nation in serious debt to them.

What stimulus? I never got one even though I qualified for the first. Neither did my daughter and she’s a minimum wage worker who was on food stamps for a while. She hasn’t received any of them.

Did either of you skip filing your 2019 taxes, and/or not put your name into the sign-up Website?

I didn't get my first stimulus until I filed my 2019 taxes, months after most people got theirs. Once the taxes were in, the stimulus check was in my mail box within two weeks.

No stimulus checks here in Canada but I did just pick this bass up on the weekend:

Yeah. Without being overtly political, I make too much for party X to care about and not enough for party Y to care about.

And people are happy that both borrowed 14k from us and gave some 1k back as hush money. Knowing it it will cost us much more when both raise taxes on everything to pay it back.

That 1k won't cover that cost. We all loss again.

Or they could not take 75% of that money and send to foreign nations and their own pockets.

That we will pay back with higher taxes.

I'm another still due a current check but don't expect the corrupt / inept IRS to manage the basics and won't bother watching for a $tim deposit, I'd rather give it to the truly needy anyway.
fortunately the only thing I need bass-wise is a new insert on my $30 Ibby P bass and along with my bolt-on Epi T-Bird IV GAS is a thing of the past. don't quote me on that but what killer basses!
dueling NBD ...how can you say no to a nice P for (almost) free?
now it's in the hands of the corrupt / inept Social Security office if I'll even get that done by a tech in this lifetime lol a new soldering iron would be the only thing I envision any outlay for right now.
