Anyone else completely happy with their rig?

Yes,
very happy with my set up.
Peavey USA Mill 5 > Ibanez P500H > Genz Benz NeoX 212T. This set up covers anything I need to do.

Only a mild case of GAS for another Mill 5 as back up & possibly a Line 6 G30 wireless. But other than that no real gas.

Well, I have 3 different rigs, but, belive it or not, the one I am most happy with is my Roland DB 700 combo. Never fails to give me the tone in my head and has been a workhorse for 10 years now. Only problem is, I have to use it on small to medium gigs.No problem these days as most of my gigs are of this type. It's about 270 watts, but I love the tone I get and am always happy when I get to use it.

I can say that I am very happy with my setup. I have two mid nineties Ibanez ATKs that Ive been using exclusively for 3 years, and I have a Genz Benz NeoPak paired with a Bill Fitzmaurice Design Omni 10. it sounds phenomenal for me everywhere I gig it. I am building a second omni 10 for the increased volume when needed, but the tone is killer for me ;D

Pleased as punch... even the cat is happy with it.

got a 69 svt/73 810, and a 64 b-15n with two extension cabs. plus i'm getting a couple new-fangled audiokinesis cabs, which i will most likely use with the svt. what's not to be happy about?

I don't think I can be happy with my rig. There are rumors of new GB amps and cabs so maybe I'll give them a try. The Audiokinesis stuff looks cool, but so expensive...I guess, I haven't found a retail outlet yet. Same with the TechAmp Puma.

I'm still trying to figure out the hum/buzz from my bass.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my amp, but I'm constantly being pleasantly surprised by my #1 bass. I bought a BBE Opto Stomp, thinking it would add some "magic", but I ended up not using it on my main bass because it sounds so good by itself.

BTW, I'm not knocking the Opto Stomp. It works great on some of my other basses, and was a pleasant surprise on certain guitars.

I'm very happy - virtually no GAS on the rig side. The Eden WT-405/Bag End combination really works well. I can add/subtract cabinets based on venue, and the Auralex Gramma pad works wonders. The head is very versatile, quiet, and frankly, as loud as I'll ever need it to be without PA support. The DI is really great on it as well.

For studio work, I use an old school Joe Meek VC-1 preamp. No enhancement, no compression, just input and output gain staging direct to the board. For studio distortion, my go-to is my 1994 Sansamp PSA-1. Crushing sound - it's a keeper!

I have been spending $'s on lessons, books (Ron Carter - Building Jazz Bass Lines), etc. I believe at this point my GAS is better expelled here - I've spent too much time/effort/money chasing my tone-tail in the pursuit of, of, of.......

Started with a MIM P and a Line 6 Studio 110 amp, until it broke by playing it too loud with my band. Bought a Terror Bass and 2 Aguilar GS112 cabs, a Turbo Tuner and recently a Xotic Bass BB Preamp and haven't look back, it owns everything music stores have in stock. Imo.

I accept the rig I have (see pic), and even like it, but I'll never be completely happy with it. I used to have a rig I was completely happy with (Mesa 400 w/EV B-410), but I sold it 2 1/2 years ago, after I lost my job. And frankly, I've only done 4 gigs since then, and there was an amp at three of those gigs, so I can't say I really even need my existing amp.

I do play at church every week with a smaller amp, and I was completely happy with it until I tried the GK 212 combo. :D

Doubt that. I love humility, shows strength of character. I'll wager you could rip us all a new one.

And we'd thank you for it.

I appreciate that Baron, but I am really just a yeoman. Do the job, try to land on the top of the beat, make my bandmates look good if I can.

I tend to shed the humility when I'm forced to talk about my instruments, though, and you were warned...
