Anyone else having issues with USPS?

There is nothing political going on, it’s record high volumes combined with staffing issues because of COVID.

The last few months have been full of political turmoil regarding the USPS. Its been in the news. Covid and volume issues are at record highs of course, but that's been easily predictable for months. To get much further into it would get the thread locked but there's Google.

I currently have 5 inbound items from USPS that suddenly went to “Arriving Late, no delivery date available”.

Same here (2 packages). But it's hit or miss.

I also just received notice that UPS handed something off to the USPS for the final leg. That used to be a regular thing when I lived in the sticks, but never since I became a townie 3 years ago. It's now in limbo.

My mother retired as a mail carrier 15 years ago. I have nothing but respect for this workforce with an increasingly difficult job.

I had a Pod Go get lost in transit to California from Chicago sent through USPS. I had to call them before they went to go find it. It ultimately was found. Though I don’t know in what condition it made it there in. The seller tried to charge me a restocking fee because “ the box didn’t make it there in the original condition “. Even though it was 100% in the condition I received it in.

Our veteran mail carrier told my wife today that a day or two ago his boss at the PO asked the entire workforce for volunteers to work tomorrow (Sunday.) When he arrived for his shift early this morning (Saturday), he and the entire staff were told that EVERYONE would now be working Sunday. This is in Atlanta, BTW. (I'm the "really good guy" to whom the OP refers. LOL!)

Yeah, USPS lost one of my packages this season. I'm going to wait until the Christmas rush is over to file a claim in case they find it in a corner. They've already opened a search case on my request that ended without resolution.

In the area I live there are at least three similar, but distinct addresses similar to my address. We have gotten to know the folks who live at these other addresses quite well, I must say, for all the wrong reasons.

I shipped an item to a fellow TB-er on 12/8 from Maryland to Georgia. The package has been sitting at the Atlanta USPS depot since 12/11 with no movement.

Thankfully my buyer is a really good guy & is being very patient. It's an unfortunate situation the USPS is in, being short-handed in a time when everyone is shipping gifts.

I filed a claim with USPS. Not sure if that will do anything. Maybe someone in Atlanta will notice that there's a truck/trailer that has been sitting since last week and decide to unload it... lol.

Anyone else dealing with this?
My wife bought something online from Target recently and waited weeks and didn’t get it, tracking had said it had actually been delivered so we assumed some porch pirate stole it. She ended up filing a claim and got another one sent out for free, she got it, then oddly enough the original one showed up at our door today. If only that would happen with basses lol
