Anyone else quit riding motorcycles?

OP checking back in. Wow - can't believe I've been bike-less for 8 years now!
I think about it every now and then. Going out to the coast or the desert definitely isn't the same in the "cage". (But I'm still getting out there from time to time and that's the main thing.)
I approached the bikes the way I approach my basses - if it's not getting used enough, I don't want to be tripping over it & have money tied up in it.
Toward the end there my bike was starting to feel like some kind of dog that never got to go to the lake. Didn't seem right somehow to just keep it penned up 99% of the time.
When I think about getting a bike again, I remind myself that over the last 8 years the deer have become more numerous around here (they even pop up in the middle of town now).

I've been bikeless for 12 years. Then last week I went back to my hometown to visit friends and family, and I ended up going for a ride with a friend who owns an Indian Scout 1200 and a Victory Gunner 1800. I'd forgotten how good it feels!

I'm going to check out a Victory Hammer 1800 tomorrow ............

Yes,, sold my beautiful RK a month ago. No time to ride, with elderly Mother, etc, BUT mostly due to increased traffic/development in my area and losing two friends in two years due to deer ALONE. Antlered idiots ran the guys down like kamikazes and then, a friend (thank,God, in his truck) gets run into in the side by deer twice in 3 weeks...I’m done.

I haven't quit riding, it just feels like it. Since the snow went off the highways this spring I've had my Deuce out exactly once. I've just been too damn busy to ride, plus I really need to change the oil, but funds are tight enough at the moment that it will have to wait until next pay day... whenever that may be! ;)

Deer and elk both, plus the occasional moose, are really thick where I live, too. Playing Dodge the Deer is no fun. Sorry to hear about your friends.
