Anyone else totally happy with their basses?

I am constantly tempted by the young and nubile, with all of their frills and "new" electronics and new tones. Then I pick up one of my long loves, and that feeling rapidly dissipates. Its good to be content and committed. All of the tones to match my playing styles and moods and color creeps.....no harm in looking but getting will unlikely not occur. Now about those pedals............

I have a Stingray 5HH, an L-2500, a Precision V, and a complete Franken Jazz that sounds fantastic. I'm kind of interested in trying a 5-string semihollow or hollowbody because it would be a great fit for one of the groups I play with and I might be tempted by the right Bongo (might, as in only if it's something VERY specific). However, I have great basses and I'm very happy with them. I'm not actively looking to replace any of them.

And, if I found myself in a situation where I needed to sell off bass gear, I could be completely satisfied with my Stingray.

LOVE MY BONGO BUT NOW WITH THE UPGRADES TO THE NEODYNIUM pPUON THE NEW STINGRAYS, THE DIFFERENCE HAS REALLY DIMINISHED

As it happens I absolutely love all of my basses. I think I'd only move any of them due to dire financial circumstances.

But I think if I absolutely HAD to drop down to a single bass it would be this one.

But I love my current basses could easily not buy another bass. passive jazz, active 5 string fretless, & active Jazz bass all my needs are covered.

One 4 string J (active, 60s position)
One 4 string P (passive)(will put flat on it soon)

More than enough for me. I’m happy.

I have to say right now I am totally satisfied with my basses. I have spent years trying to find the bass for me. Turns out I love p basses. I built 2 warmoth p basses and I love em. I gig both of them and they sound great. They are better than any Fenders that I could buy IMO.

For the first time in my life I'm at a point where I don't want to buy any more basses.

It doesn't mean that other basses don't appeal to me - I saw on FB that Carey Nordstrand is doing a small run of Nordy nP4s and I'd love one. And the new Stingray Specials look/sound/feel great. But I won't be getting either because I have everything I need.

Honestly it's kind of a weird feeling. I think I've always looked at my basses and thought if only it was lighter, or punchier or had a different neck profile or was a different color etc. But now after years and years I don't have any complaints.

Now I just need to practice/gig more.

How about you? Where are you at in your journey to find the perfect bass or basses for you?

Yep! My Two and a Half Music Men! The one in the middle is a PJ body I built (thread) to fit a SR5 neck. The Bongo is my go-to for hi-fi EDM & synth stuff, and the PJ (passive) has become my go-to for rock. The PJ kinda kicked my Sterling out of the main rotation and it's giving me the itch to perhaps mod the Sterling. I want to find a new use for the Sterling because I don't want to sell it.

It's a Stambaugh. I took Chris' ODB body shape and had him square it up like a Pbass and give it a solid color finish (by Marty Bell) and a pickguard for more of a traditional vibe.

Alder body, wenge neck, rosewood fingerboard, hipshot hardware, a custom Aero pickup and an East P-Retro preamp. I love the thing.

I just bought a custom bass. I've been playing 21 years and never ever bought a really expensive bass had a couple Spector Euros but nothing high end. (Not that you need a high end bass there are plenty low end basses that play amazing) so did alot of researching and got something I can't put down. Probably will never part from it but I can't say I would never buy any other or try others. That's the fun thing of being a musician, trying new instruments.

I have more basses than I care to list, but right now I’m really happy with one in particular; my Carvin LB76w. Since I quit my cover band and started an original project, I get to play what I want to. The Carvin really fits the bill. I do often practice on my Yamaha TRBX 505 which has turned out to be a surprisingly nice bass. I bought it as a back up on a whim and am really impressed with it. If I had to sell my 20+ other basses and could only keep one, it would be the Carvin.
